Looks like we could have a decent sized shake-up in Division II.

Final enrollment numbers are out http://ohsaa.org/members/hsenroll13.htm

If you go by the division breakdowns from this last cycle, Chillicothe would move from DII to DI, Meigs and Minford moves from DIII to DII and Fairland and Waverly move from DII to DIII. But the trend has been for that low number for DII schools to go down. It was at 214 in 2011 and 223 in 2009. Waverly (201), Fairland (202), Northwest (206) and South Point (209) are all in that ballpark range depending on where the number falls.

Let's project the number falls by nine, like the last time, to 205. That would put South Point and Northwest into DII. The Board votes on the divisional breakdowns next month, so it should be interesting, I could see D2 losing Chillicothe, Waverly and Fairland and gaining Meigs, Minford, South Point and Northwest.

sorry about getting cut short ... usually the Reds start at 7:10, and we go off air exactly 30 minutes prior to game time ... leave it up to the folks in Cleveland to screw up everyone's show by starting at 7:05 ...

I am looking for the Trojans to possibly challenge the top dogs of your rankings, pfloyd, after the developments this past week in Portsmouth. An incoming sophomore PG to free sophomore Kyre Allison from that slot will prove to be a huge plus for the Trojans. 3 years of a scary good backcourt for PHS. Add Isaiah Lisath, Sky Oliver, and Kahlil Lattimore to these two and Portsmouth will have the deepest, and quite possibly the best backcourt in the SE District.

And Westfall is officially open with Carson heading closer to his home. I have an inkling on his replacement, but will wait til the official announcement is made. It may not be a great job this year, but it will be pretty good in a year or so. Good young talent.

I did some math (that page is hard to do it on an iPhone) and I think the # will be anywhere from 200 to 204 and the D3 will be anywhere from 109 to 115.

Fun fact: new Lynchburg coach Matt Carson was the 3rd base umpire in Wheelersburg's state title game yesterday! He's a man of many talents.

Wheelersburg and Coach Ater went 3-0 at Marshall today. Good start for the young coach!

Unioto goes 5-1 at Waverly, losing only to Leesburg in sudden death in the finals. Leesburg goes 6-0 and was very impressive. Unioto was without 4 rotation players and was dominant in their wins, so I'm very happy with today's results, I'm sure Coach Hoops would have loved to have gotten the 6th W.
