Definitely a big upset, but Huntington was fortunate to not be down big early as Oyer worked out of some big jams. The Panthers were down to their last out in the 7th, but Hudson Drake singled to help send it to extras.

Obviously anything can happen in baseball and that was proven tonight in the township.

What happened to Westfall?
Started 7-1 and then went 3-12 to finish the year. They looked really promising early

Their catcher was lost for the season shortly after and that was huge as he was a middle of the order bat. Then had another one of their better players suspended and they never recovered from that.

I’m assuming their catcher was Wickline? Didn’t see his name much after Unioto’s first game against them. They were a promising team

The SVC went about the way most people thought. Unioto dominated except for the one slip up. Very talented team. Huntington and Zane Trace tied for second place. ZT beat Huntington both times. Huntington has a lot of talent with most of it returning. Who will be the coach? Zane Trace played well in the league, but pitching depth hurt them in the non league. Plus, they play a very good non league schedule. Westfall and Piketon. Westfall was hot at the beginning while Piketon played well at the end. PV and Adena struggled, but played a lot of close league games. Southeastern’s young team pulled a huge upset in the tournament.

All 3 of Unioto’s losses were from teams playing small ball and timely hitting. Unioto just didn’t have energy and didn’t respect Circleville. Sucks that this senior group never made any kind of run.

GC, I know Leeth and Geise are seniors. Who are the others that T will be losing?

Geise, Leeth, Griffin, Platt, Lemaster. All started the last 3 years for the most part. Also sucks that Leeth was never healthy. I don’t know if he pitched more than 20 innings in his career at Unioto
