Its ridiculous because you took it literally. That is the point. Everybody makes ridiculous claims about Ironton the super villian. I used an example of exactly the opposite of how Ironton carries themselves to illustrate just how stupid the narrative is. You're correct. It is ridiculous. The entire narrative is.

I spent a morning off taking a fam member to an appt with physician, and while waiting I was reading the football threads on this page. The jealousy of Ironton that I have read by fans of the other area schools is embarrassing for this entire region and has escalated to utter ridiculousness. My student athelete is new to the region and already we have observed how just putting on the orange and black and making the best decisions for us as a family, in this area, results in gossip and innuendo and straight up lies on this site by adults about underage children. Calling them recruits and creating narratives that suggest the child and that childs parents and the Ironton coaches have some nefarious conspiracy going all because whatever local school they are a fan of is not rising up to compete on Irontons level.
What is even more concerning is, it seems like the adults who run this forum not only approve of that conduct, but they also encourage it.

I will let you know, all that does is give us even more motivation to embarrass you and your kids and your school when we play you. To not only beat you, but to embarrass you and to rub it in. In just a few short weeks we get to light up the scoreboard and the plan is to plant the Ironton flag midfield at Ed Miller stadium in the same fashion that Baker Mayfield planted the Oklahoma flag at the horseshoe. Get pictures of the scoreboard before they scurry to blank it and plant the flag in the middle. Maybe even wipe cleets on Wheelersburgs logo. To get respect you have to give it and Ironton is angry, motivated, hungry, with a huge chip on their shoulders because they feel disrespected. Come week 1, we are gonna do some severe disrespecting of our own. Congrats to the other area teams we play. Your big mouth fans earned you the treatment you are going to get when you play The Fighting Tigers.

Yeah I’m not sure I quite comprehend that post lol. I mean it’s all banter back and forth, I highly doubt people are that stressed about stuff they read online. That said how are you going to talk about feeling disrespected and it’s absurd for grown adults to talk a certain way and then literally talk that same way & say you’re going to plant flags & rub your cleats in logos. That would be Ironton coaches & parents teaching and allowing players to act classless, literally just what said poster wrote against lol. There’s bad blood with Ironton from almost every school around here, same can be said with Burg. When you’re good people don’t like you, when they beat you people don’t like you, when your players want to play for those schools, those schools recruit. Honestly would love for Portsmouth to get the attention and accusations of recruiting, that would mean they are winning games and kids want to play for them.


**Also, at the end of the day no matter what happened in the Portsmouth-Ironton 7 on 7 nothing came of it other than a fight on the field that ended quickly. I and other Portsmouth fans can feel a certain way about it, Ironton fans can feel it was just football. Both are okay, 7 on 7 season is over. They’ll meet week 10 to hash it out with pads on. But I’m sure neither team cares about week 10 right now, you’re looking at your next opponent. This is what happens when there’s not much to discuss, tempers flare over 7 on 7’s lol. Man I love football.

Just eliminated them from the playoffs last year, spanked them the year before that. For someone who supposedly just moved their kid into this area you’re awfully hurt. My guess is your kid probably doesn’t play, yet coach P and staff have a pwo spot at Rio waiting for him so you keep him there so he can get a cool OVC medal…wait nvm they won’t get that anymore. Went 2-2 in pool play but then the following Tuesday against Beaver Eastern got beat pretty bad.

Why everytime I talk to somebody back home in that area ya'll always steady "hearin" a lot about something & just run with it? Don't never have anything to show ya about what ya talking.
