Fairland just shut Coal Grove down - plain and simple. The rain was actually a big disadvantage for CG, not Fairland.

Congrats to the Dragons on your first piece of the OVC title since 1997!

"
Take it to the bank. This isn't last year's Hornet team and the Coaching staff has proven that while they would really just like to pound the ball at you the whole game, they aren't afraid to get creative when they need to. Speed is a threat this year, as is the pass if you aren't ready for it.
Is there anyone up in Dragon land praying that it doesn't rain?"

Too much speed from the dragons and the grove is just way to predictable.

Never thought the whole Grove nation would have nothing to say.

What a game these kids played! This was a big step for our program getting back to competing for a conference title!I'm just happy for those kids!Very unusual mud celebration by the student body after the game! That was a first for me! Kinda reminded me of Woodstock or something! It must be great to be a kid because I have no desire to do that! :mrgreen:I guess the "Good Ole Boys" do know a little about the foosball!

I think we proved tonight that we were a playoff caliper team.Total domination by FHS. Blaine you lived up to your nickname tonight. Catch I think it might of been no.5 not 9 who whiffed on Blaine. Can someone from CG explain to me why Oakie is not the feature back. He is a very good athlete and should get the ball more than he does. Ward for the dragons had a very good last game . Way to win a piece of the OVC seniors. Cole the last time you carried the ball you left that kid grasping for air what a move. I will miss your leadership and you heart. This is one kid who leaves it all on the field. Thacky what can I say you just had to get that unsportsman like penalty at the end. But hey I understand you crushed that kid and the Grove had been running their mouth all night long. You are IMO the best lineman FHS has had in years. YOU ARE AWESOME! :122249 This team deserved this tonight after all the hard losses you have experienced over the last 2-3 years. Guys you are OVC champs enjoy it you deserved it.

Congrats to ALL the OVC Co-Champs! What a great way to end the season. You should all be proud, especially the seniors who get to walk away champions, whether you are a Pointer, a Dragon, or a Hornet. Best of luck to you all.

Hey 450 - I know when I'm beat. All I could do was stand their under my umbrella and laugh it off....

Congrats to the Grove on their 2nd consecutive OVC title share. Next year, I'm expecting an outright title and a playoff berth.

Earp: I didn't get up there till like 10 min before kickoff - was running very late from my humble abode in the hills of Lawrence County. I was thankful to get a great parking spot, though!

Thats okay,I ate youre bowl of chili for ya!There was no crow in it though!Hey I have eaten that crow before too!Heck who knows Red might have killed a crow and put it in the chili,Or possible a possum or something! :lol:Coach Snyder made a great point after the game though,He said it appeared that Coal Groves backs seemed to be running not to make a mistake and just hang on to the ball and not making downhill runs like Coal Grove is known for!So I am curious about this Fuzz,With you guys down 35-6 why did you guys line up in the Maryland I?That doesn't seem to me like a very solid "come from 28 points down"type of move?Just curious about youre thoughts on that.

Just added a photo from the game (a good little sideline moment) in the feature spot on the front page of my site (www.tristatesportspage.com). You may need to refresh it once or twice because the photos are in a rotation.

haha its funny that South Point, Coal Grove, and Fairland are all Co-OVC Champions! With all competition put aside, I am glad so many of the seniors from these three schools can at least say they were an OVC champ their last year. (they don't need to tell their future children down the road that two other schools also won that year hehe).

Congrats to all three teams. I think each has very much earned a piece of the championship this year!

a tri championship is a tie and like kissing your sister. coal grove cant be happy with that surely. they should be the outright winner of a weak OVC and have to share it with teams that should have been competing for 2nd place behind them! yeah i would be proud. that team had more talent than what they showed. the real champion of the OVC is portsmouth west. they owned everyone they played in the OVC.

RedStorm,They looked like the weaker team last night! It wasnt ever close! All I heard all week on here is how fast Coal Grove was??It wasnt close from a speed standpoint,They were completly outclassed last night!I would like to get another shot at all of those teams we lost to,Well except maybe West they are alot better now too! ;-)The way out team is playing right now we would take 3 of the 4 non conference games! ;-)

Congratulations to the Fairland players for sticking with it when they could have thrown in the towel after an 0-4 start. You showed a lot of heart (ironically, heart is something your head coach told you that you didn't have after the Sheldon-Clark game). Great job guys.
The comment "I guess the "Good Ole Boys" do know a little about the foosball!" isn't proven by this win or this season. To lead a playoff caliber team to a 4-5 record is not an accomplishment. What the PLAYERS did was an accomplishment. Earp, please think before you post.
