If they don't hire a coach with charisma and who will make the kids drink his kool-aid, RV will open with a loss!

Non league games against Eastern, Meigs, Minford and Waterford. I'm not sure who the 5th non league game is with. Also not sure of the schedule of these games.

Yes, the Mighty Falcons of Minford, Ohio are game one for River Valley. Maybe it will be a close game seeing its Gallia County and Scioto County teams going at it. Way to start a rivalry going two counties over to find a team

WOW....I didnt know that they added Minford and Eastern. I knew they were done playing N-Y....does this mean the Southeastern series is over?? And who is that 5th non-conf game?? Minford in week 1....interesting....
Re: Has anything been done at River Valley?
i have restrained from posting on this for a few reasons but i want to say something. any football program that put together north gallia, a strong program, and kyger creek, another strong program, ought to be better than this. this whole thing is as dysfunctional as a priest in the playboy mansion. river valley is in the wrong league, but the tri-valley won't let them in. no one cares if the beat rock hill, if they could beat rock hill. they need to play wellston and oakhill and teams of kids they see, at least at buckeye hills, not teams in another county who they never see and will never have a rivalry with. there is a lot of pride in football in gallia county. unfortunately all that is going to the blue devils and not to the raiders. the people to blame are the parents who allow this to happen.

Re: Has anything been done at River Valley?
Interviews for the new FB coach started yesterday.
My understanding is that they are interviewing quite a few candidates. They are going to try and find the right person for the job.
I believe that RV does play Oak Hill this year, BTW.

are we too late to save rv football? this program should be great! the combining of north gallia and kyger creek was supposed to make a great football team. where is it? i hope they get there. gclsd will need to hire some admin who are not centered on the blue devils though if the raiders are going to prosper.

I see what you are saying fasteach......but......as much as it pains me to say, being a North Gallia kid growing up....this isnt about NG/KC anymore. Maybe it was in the early years of RV, but now....heck, most of these kids werent even BORN when NG and KC existed, or they dont even remember the old 4 schools. This is about RV and ALL RV.....whether that is good or bad, well that is a whole other question!
Re: Has anything been done at River Valley?
With Minford being picked to win the SOC, you River Valley guys better get it together by late August or you’ll find your butt kicked up between your ears. The Falcons are in a tough league with Wheelersburg, Portsmouth West, Waverly, Lucasville, and North West and they will compete for the title by all estimates.

"butt kicked up between your ears"......WOW, thanks for those encouraging words!

Re: Has anything been done at River Valley?
I am just saying that league they play in is no joke, Minford went 8-2 and came in third. I did see them play at Coal Grove when both were undefeated, and thought they dominated the Hornets. The game wasn't as close as the score indicated 21-14, they did down the ball at the 1 yard line of CG with less than 2:00 left. I hope to see Ironton in the SOC II by 2010.
