… as Ironton and Portsmouth are moving into the OVC , I just read the report in the Logan paper that Gallia Academy will be voting on accepting the OVC invitation to join the OVC as well … makes me sad to read this - does it make perfect sense for GAHS to do - absolutely … but I hate to see the end of the SEOAL to soon follow I'm afraid … a sad day in SEO sports - the writing on the wall for end of the SEOAL …

Unioto's scrimmage with Desales has been switched to at Unioto tonight to allow the Desales players and coaches to attend their playoff game 5 minutes down the road at the beautiful Herrnstein Field within the city limits.

YEP !!! it's basketball season !!! … I will be taking a look at my Preseason Rankings posted back in March - the top 8 will stay as posted … the Treehugger Wannabes will be adjusted or "fine tuned" as well as teams added to the Teams on the End Table … 72 teams , SEOhio boys basketball … nothing better in high school hoops imo … with that said though I wish the best to ALL of the gridiron teams from SEO who are getting it done on the football field STILL … would like nothing more than to have multiple SEO FB teams bring back State Titles with the potential of a State Title in hoops on the horizon as well for this 2014-15 basketball season …

The Shermans looked really good tonight against a Desales team who was missing 2 players (1 returning starter) due to football season. Unioto won 4 of 5 varsity quarters against the athletic Stallions. Desales should have a solid year, but struggled to score from the outside. Unioto hosts Minford/VC on Monday and Portsmouth on Tuesday.
