We at PHS are rooting for the burg. After PHS handled the burg I have been wishing them well. Just too bad that Valley had to beat them. Now it looks like Valley may be the class of the SOC. You never know with the SOC, it's always a toss up.

I never thought of you so much as ungraceful losers, but rather you take a win as an obnoxious spoiled brat. Call it confidence if you will, but most burg fans are obnoxious. Nothing personal...just trying to keep it real.

Might I suggest playing Roy Orbison's 'Crying'

But if you had 50 cents for every poster that came on your thread and said that Portsmouth wasn't the "class" of (anything), you'd be a poor little boy. :)

...that would make Burg not the class of the SOC...

Besides, he didn't say that Burg wasn't the class of the SOC. He said it looks like Valley MAY be the class of the SOC.
Looks can be deceiving. :)

What about Oak Hill?? We beat them by 10.....65-55.

I look forward to Valley making the trip up TO Oak Hill and proving that round 1 was not a fluke!! GO INDIANS!!

Oak Hill can't wait to proved it was a fluke. Be careful what you wish for.

TOOBiased,
Woo hoo, the poet lariat of Greenup County.

"And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:"

So, who else do you occasionally envision yourself as? Ol Albert Einstein ? Aristotle ?

More like the Walter Mitty of SEOPS.

Jesco White wrote:I told coop during the final minute that I bet Barrick felt like Apollo Creed's corner in Rocky 2 when they went out for the final round. They kept yelling at him to stay away from Rocky because he already had the fight won on points, but he wanted the knock-out. I'm sure coach Barrick wanted his kids to be much more patient and "stay away" from them down the stretch.

I think the biggest compliment to both teams is the way that both teams were able to battle playing each other's game. Burg dictated the overall tempo of the game, but Valley was also able to assert its style at different segments of the game...each time they did, the Burg kids responded. To me, that is the sign of two very solid basketball teams who are going to be a tough out for anybody in the tournament.

I was left feeling that if Barrick had ONE more timeout for that last stretch, they would have won the game. But he had used them all up getting the kids through to that final bit and had none left to break what turned out to be a 9-0 run to take the lead. It is hard to settle the young'ums down without stopping and talking to them.

But good luck to the Indians. As I said before: DON'T waste this!

Unfortunately, I don't see you beating Oak Hill at Oak Hill. The gym is smaller and you won't be able to run them as well as it sounded like you did at Valley. But I hope that you do.

Of course Minford at Minford won't be a cakewalk either...

Burg only averages in the 40's and Stegman gets 20 per game, That is a one man show. He's your height, he's your top rebounder, he's your top scorer. Shut him down and make everybody else beat you, the other team will win most of the time.
