Wheelersburg has plenty of guards on the varsity roster. Maybe the freshmen will move up for tournament but probably not before then. None looked ready for it in what I have seen so far. Very talented but still very freshman.
As for freshmen playing: the first freshman to play on varsity at Wheelersburg with Barrick at the helm was Andrew Burleson and he did not start. In fact he only began playing any varsity about halfway through his freshman year and then only saw limited minutes. The next freshman to play on varsity, and he actually started after about the third game, was Nick Carrington. They were honestly desperate for a guard that year--especially after their senior guard quit the second or third game of the season. Drew Spradlin is the only freshman to start every game his entire career and that was both on talent and because they only had 2 seniors (Tom Kaskey, Tyler Holsinger) and one junior (Nick Carrington) that year. Dusty Cook played as a freshman (same year as Drew S.) and Zaide Whitley played as a freshman but neither started except maybe Cook when Nick was out with an ankle injury... And Andy Stegman started his second or third game as a freshman. Six total freshmen is a short list for 15 years.

Yes, I had him on my list in my head when I started typing but stopped prior to the current players for some reason. I corrected that.
