League coming to final stretch. How are the Lady Warriors doing? Been quiet lately. Don't they play @Marietta tonight?

Re: warren volleyball
The Lady Warriors have had a tough week so far losing in 5 to both Logan and Zanesville. Everyone seems to be gunning for them. Not sure where this leaves them in the league standings. I'm sure they still control there own destiny by winning out. They must get focused if they are going to defeat an improving Marietta squad.

Everyone is always gunning for Warren. Their success the past decade will do that. Each year teams circle the date on the schedule.
Been some time since back to back league losses. Time to right the ship and get ready for the stretch run and tourney.

A warrior sweep!
Varsity in 4 (without an ill Katie Fisher). Great night for Bailey Poage and Katie Farley.
Jv's in 2 and the Frosh in 3. Way to turn it back up ladies!
The coaching at Warren is fine...thank you!!!

The coaching, the players and the Big Blue fans are doing just a wonderful job and we have loads to be proud about. It has been a long week and we've learned from our losses! We recovered quickly! Teamwork is what makes or breaks a team and all of our coaches, players and even the fans seem to work really well together and that will make the difference at the tourneys.

Re: warren volleyball
Down the stretch we come. The Zanesville match is the biggest match of the year. The teams are split with each team winning on their home floor. The next match gives the winner the tie breaker and that could be huge in the end in determing the winner of the North and a chance to play for the league title in the DOC (which also will be at home).
Keep it going Lady Warriors!!!
Marietta keeps improving. Not the same team that would win three games a year and really look dis-interested at this part of the season. I wouldn't want to draw them in round one of the sectional, to much potential and in a one and done, well there are easier draws.

Re: warren volleyball
hey water - happy with our coach and the job she and her staff doing!
Absolutely no doubt, Marietta's coach had great success at Warren... However... how many league titles did they win when they didnt have the league mvp... ummmmm 0, mayyyybe 1.?.
no league mvp candidates at Warren, and he leaves...
Go Blue!

Re: warren volleyball
News flash warriorfan - the league MVP can't win you a league championship. It takes a team effort which is what Warren had every year they won under Marietta's new coach. And how do you know you dont have the MVP (thats quite a statement for your players to read and I'd be embarrassed to post something like that). You win the league, you may have the MVP. Any big standouts on the other 3 teams? Would be nice to hear your thoughts since you know so much. also, since you seem to be in the know is it true Fisher will be done next year once her daughter graduates? If that is true I cant even begin to imagin e the grief she'll take.
fightingfalcon you are right, the Zanesville game is a big one and a must for the Lady Warriors. Zanesville is much improved this year. Warren played well last night but not as good as the first time they placed Marietta and they will have to be more solid to beat Zanesville and win the league.
It is also good to see people posting on this thread again now that Warren won last night. Had been pretty quiet up til then.
Good luck Lady WArriors the rest of the way.

Re: warren volleyball
easy sideout.... no offense intended...
First of all, No MVP on Warren's team this year coming back because she graduated...
Secondly, Its any coaches perogative to move on when he/she feels fit... shoot, not having to drive 550 everyday would be enough reason for me!!!
Finally, You seem Awfully sensitive... No nastiness from me, enjoyed watching the teams that Marietta's new coach produced over the past years here at Warren and wish him and his team all the success except when they play the Warriors!

Re: warren volleyball
"to the winners go the spoils"
Often the winners will get the MVP, may not be right but it is hard for other coaches to vote against your girls (by the way you can't vote for your own) when you beat them both or three times. Heck in some leagues it is pre-determined, winners get MVP and two other selections. Warren has had a nice run of MVPs going way back but they also have won what 7 out of 9 something like that with about 5 in a row.

Re: warren volleyball
Does the league MVP come from both North and South or do they both have an MVP?
Re: warren volleyball
Not sure about MVP's but am sure we have a whole team of them this year. They step up every time we need them to and a loss or two hasn't killed us yet. Monday Belpre at Belpre 5 ish. Wed. and Thurs. HOME! See you there!!!!
Re: warren volleyball
I see the MVP as a leader with experience and skill that is greater than the competition. Brenna Goethel deserves this honor. She has the experience unlike any other player around. She was on every tournament run within the last 4 years starting varsity as a freshman. And everyone knows Warren Volleyball's success recently. She directs the team with poise in difficult and nerve racking situations. She is a great libero and one of the best passers to come through the school in recent history.

agreed, goethel is a great leader.
but you can't discount mcmichael (setter is a natural leader position) or fisher, either.
this team doesn't have an MVP, it has nine UVPs (Ultra-Valuable players)
Solid work taking care of Logan in 3 tonight!
Zanesville game monday--for all the marbles!
Go Blue!

Goodluck Warriors! Let's take down Zanesville and win the SEOAL North Title.
To the Warren students section...this would be a great time to warm up for basketball season. Volleyball is a game of emotion and momentum. Help the girls out and get loud.

Tammy and Dan have taught the girls to have fun, and when they are smiling their "A" game comes out. Keep playing the team ball that has got you where you are, and have FUN!
