LDF...... I have been to some of the meetings and the cost has been stated somewhere between 3 & 5 Million $$$$...... Bleachers, Locker rooms, field turf, concession stands, lights & the list could go on... The Red dot committee did a fabulous job in getting the levy passed but I will always believe the football stadium should have been included on the levy, just Like Logan did..... People still would have passed it.IMO..... I know I would have voted for it.... You have witnessed what has happened the past few weeks, the economy is taking a nose dive & $$$$ will be hard to raise........ I hope I am wrong.......

Do we know where we stand so far in collected money? I have been asking around and have been talking to alot of people from up North and apparently there are grants available for athletics with no stipulation on what you use the oney for... I have a friend who writes grants checking on this for me and to find out what the qualifications are and for how much....

Get your Bingo license, you qualify. You would be able to sell pull tabs during your sessions. I beleive Nelsonville York does this and does quite well. Go to one of there sessions and check it out.

Are there enough old Catholic ladies in Gallipolis to support Bingo?

I would think that a motorcycle poker run would work. I know I would be there. If you do any type of poker runs, make sure you get the word out. Send out flyers to surrounding counties also. Have a split the pot. I have found if its a good cause most of the guys/gals will donate their money back if they win.

Do a motorcycle poker run in early spring or this time of the year when its not to hot. Have it on a saturday(not sunday)you'll have a better turn out.

Contact the local Harley Club they will help set it up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bricks are a good idea. Bingo also.

I really couldn't give you an answer. I work it but I'm not sure. I'll see if I can find out though. I do know if you have enough volunteers it works out well. We only have to work it every 7 weeks.

Maybe have a tennis tournament or a 5K run. For the run start at the stadium run in the neighborhood and finish at the stadium.

A car raffle is a good idea,If you can find a large dealership that will donate a vehicle. In 1993 at Fairland the athletic boosters raffled an S-10 pickup and it was very successful! ;-) Like I said though it is key that you find a dealer to either donate it or give you a really good deal on it!

You have to also remember that there are lots of Alum who no longer live in Gallia County that would be interested in helping out as well. Problem is that we dont have any communication. I have never been contacted by either the Booster Club or Alumni Association. I guess I could be more proactive (and I have in some cases). I guess what I'm saying is that if there was a fund raising event, I wouldnt know unless I hear it second hand through friends or family back home. Can these groups start an email or address list to communicate to people outside Gallipolis? JMO!

Wheelersburg does what they call a Pirate treasue. Tickets are $100.00 apiece and they sell 250 of them. The event is catered by someone locally with good eats. The money total comes to $25,000 and they give away $12,500 of it in drawings, with the main prize being $5,000. Every 10th ticket up to the last 6 wins $100.00. The last 6 are guaranteed, I think no less then $500 up to $5,000.

Good fund raiser and a good time.
