footballfan2008-good post.

It was addressed at the moment and everyone went on about their business. It was handled very well by the coaching staffs. Found out latter that the play was bumped and he was trying to get his balance when this happened, this came form one of the SG players. It is not on the SG DVD.

ill tell you right now that the west side isnt the only place that does it but yet we always get blamed for doing it.

And, when you went to the West Side to play at the old stadium... the buses never got rocked either did they! I'm sure everybody can remember those days! I guess Kentucky was doing that then and you are just getting the blame then too!

The Burg game that you was talking about was 05 or 06 in the mud at West, and I did see him get kicked it was on the 50 yard line the Burg kid had the West kid by the foot and the West kid kicked him in the helment it was right in front of the ref. I know this because I was coaching that year I took him out of the game as soon as it happened and tore his A_ _ and I told him that I didn't care if the Burg kid was pulling on his foot or not that if he ever did something like that again that he would be Done. Everybody is always dogging the Westside saying that they are always playing dirty like someone said on another post, what happens in the pile stays in the pile but West teams don't do anymore than any other teams do or have done in the pile. But to set the record straight West coaches don't stand for any of this in the pile or out of the pile, Now or back in 06, to sit and say that West is the only team that has ever pinched, pulled, or hit someone in a pile is crazy because if you have played much football in your life this happens everytime you are in a pile. I don't care what school you are from. West does not teach it or do they agree with it, No kid on any West football team tries to hurt a kid on purpose. But Football is Football things happen in the Heat of the Battle.

If you are going to try and tell me that if a kid is purposely punching, biting or pinching someone in a pile, he is not trying to hurt them, well, you are delusional. Of course they are trying to hurt them. Especially with a kick to the head.

You totally missed the point that I was trying to make the point was that alot of people on here was saying that West kids play dirty all the time. I said that when the kid was kicked that the kid that did it was ripped and told that if he ever did something like that again that he would be Done, and he had extra duty on Monday at pratice. What I was saying is that everyone acts like West kids is the only kids that do something Stupid on the field in the heat of the battle. All kids do stupid things in the heat of the battle in a football game, you can't tell me that other kids hasn't pinched , pulled, or said something in the pile that they shouldn't have did that is what I was saying and that I know that the West coaches don't teach it or will they let it go on they would deal with it, and make the kid pay for doing something stupid like that. The only person that is delusional is you, If you have ever played in a football game before when you are in the pile all kinds of crazy stuff happens coaches know that because they have been in the piles when they played. I said that I don't agree with what happens in the pile but I have seen it with West kids and every other school, but if you do something stupid prepare to pay for it. This is FOOTBALL NOT CHEERLEADING

You do what you got to do to win on a battle field and even then you are restricted by a set of laws/rules. High school football is hardly a battle field and it certainly isn't the place to kick in someones teeth.

I hope your post was bluster and not how you really feel.

BTW, I'm not referring to the original post. I wasn't there I didn't see what happened. I'm talking in general to the comment from lotlizard.

I was there, didn't see it but did hear some remarks about it.
I am certainly not defending this type of behavior but the player involved does not have a history of this type of behavior soooo I bet somewhere before this "play"something similiar and not so obvious was done to him.Maybe another player took a cheap shot from this boy and his teammate responded.Don't really know though just guessing.East does not have to resort to these tactics to win. So for some reason emotion overcame good sense which does happen even in adults.

Ditto!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I said nothing about West in my post. The post was not directed at you, I simply used your example. I know that West is not the only school in this area that does these things. I just wanted to make a point the if a kid does something like this,(A kick to the head) even in the heat of battle on the field, it is intentional, and is meant to cause damage to someone. So when you write that "no kid on West football team tries to hurt a kid on purpose", I don't agree with that statement, and this does not go just for West. If you tell me that if any kid on any football team in america kicks a kid in the head, in the same circumstances as this happened, that his intentions was not to cause bodily injury to the other player, it would be hard for me to agree with it. I do commend you for taking the player aside and dealing with the situation the way you did, but not trying to hurt the player???? And I do agree with you on the last point that you edited in THIS IS FOOTBALL, but it is not street fighting either!!!

It is called Unsportsmanlike Conduct. 15 yard penalty.

Which was given.

This should be a dead all personal foul with a ejection.

I have an interesting story that happened to my team. We were heading to Herbert Hoover to play and our team was about 40 percent black. As we were almost there a pickup truck with several red necks in it pulled beside our bus as we were driving to the stadium. One of the rednecks climbs out the window with a compound bow and pulls it full draw at our bus and was shouting racial slurs. This red neck was pretty good with the bow and his balance to climb out of the truck and get in the bed with a full draw. We were scared to death. Some messed up sportsmanship there huh?
