svd,
you caught a glimpse last year of what being in the spotlight every day of college bball is like with oden and conley. good news for you that you wont have to worry about that this year. unc will have all the limelight this year.
hammer being a uk fan actually knows what a bball program is. now that tubby is gone, maybe they can get back to their winning ways. hammer, is there any way to lure pitino back to uk? that guy can flat out coach.

svd,
you never did get back to me on how many ohio state players have an nba roster spot other than oden, redd, and conley. i didnt do any real research, just went from memory so there could be more but i doubt it.

Daequan Cook was the third member of the Thad Five that went pro after 1 year. Redd was a few years back. Cook starts at Memphis with local prodigy Mayo. Koufus went pro after last year, don't know where he is playing.

Current Buckeyes in the NBA
Greg Oden
Mike Conley Jr.
Daequan Cook
Kosta Koufos
Othello Hunter
Michael Redd
Like the vast majority of Buckeyes fans, football comes first.
Basketball is a distant second.
OSU hasn't had sustained success like Duke has over the last 20 or so years.
They have had many great players though, and the list of all-time great Buckeyes
would match up and lplay favorably against the list of all-time great Dukies.

Might want to realize what and who your comparing, before
you assume "not really".
Duke has had some great college players over the last 20 years,
but I doubt your taking into account that the Buckeyes would have
a couple of the greatest Basketball players of all time on their squad.

Re: Oden officially a bust!
yeah, but they played in a totally different era. teams now play defense in our modern era, onless you were loyola marymount. now they were a fun team to watch with hank gathers and bo kimble.

Now play defense, are you serious.
Defensive fundamentals have went the way of the finger roll layup
and the 18 foot bank shot.
C: Greg Oden
F: Jerry Lucas
F: John Havlicek
G: Jim Jackson
G: Michael Redd
Coach: Bobby Knight
I'll take that list of Buckeye greats against any list of Dukies you can put up.
The Buckeyes wouldn't win every time, but they would win their share, and every game
would be a great one.

Re: Oden officially a bust!
i dont see why everyone thinks hes a bust. i mean hes averaging 10 points/ 7.7 rebounds a game. thats not bad for someone who just sat out an entire year.

actually i like to get ohio state fans riled up just for fun because its really easy to do. you guys always have unrealistic expectations and hate to here the truth. oden is probably a really nice guy but people were actually comparing this guy to wilt, yeah right.

Re: Oden officially a bust!
the guy is 8 ft tall. he should DOMINATING every game. he should at least avg a double double. when he achieves dwight howard status, then we can all debate. until then, moot point.
