Ironton 44-42 final........

Kretzer led all scorers with 23 and Zac Carter was high for Ironton with 20 points.....

Good game, Waverly's enormous lack of a #2 scorer killed them down the stretch.

Waverly looked lost in the last couple possessions, tough game to lose.

Waverly fouled with 11.7 to go, down 44-42. Both shots were missed. Kretzer attempted a long 3 with about 4 seconds to play, Kelly got the rebound but his shot at the buzzer missed as well.
Somebody other than Kretzer has to start knocking down some shots and I think they will. Kelly, White, & Hart are capable of putting up 15 points a game and we know Ward can chip in 10 or more any given night. This was a very winable game for Waverly. Learn from it and get ready for Minford Friday night.

Kretzer had two dunks, the last one a massive slam to make it 44-42 with 11.7 to play.

Waverly did look lost in the last couple possessions because nobody was willing to take the big shot. Fletcher did a nice job denying Jake the ball and no one stepped up and wanted to be the guy. They continued to pass the ball around the perimeter until Jake came and got it. Ran the clock from 53.6 to 18 seconds without a shot while down 4. On the bright side i thought Brock Davis came in and gave good minutes after not seeing much time in the previous 2 games.

They never got a good look, credit to Ironton and their defense but you would think Waverly has a better play set up than what was shown. No rhythm or execution at the end of the game.
