It makes the game more interesting to see players dunk. It would be very boring to watch basketball if nobody could dunk. It gets the players fired up and the crowd also. I love to see players dunk but unfortunaltely you do not see much of it in Lawrence co.

I go to a lot of games and have yet to see a dunk this year apart from DJ Cunningham in warm-ups and I have not found any of the games boring. Sure its a little more excitement but doesn't make it boring if there are no dunks.

Slam dunk...ummm congratulations  ...find me another Spud Webb and I might get excited.

Slam dunk = easiest shot in basketball next to the lay up.

I would rather see a guy make it rain beyond the arch any day.

that's the truth....shooting with range takes much more skill. if you are big it really takes almost no skill to dunk the ball

Dunk, I have not seen a dunk in a game in Southern Ohio in the past couple of years. Who cares about the dunk, if it is good BBALL.

Spud Webb achieved his first slam dunk when he was just 4'11''...... WOW ......Most 4'11'' people can hardly touch the backboard let alone jump 4+ feet in the air and slam a basketball.

Piketon's Keenan Brush had a nice one v. Waverly to end the Holiday Tournament. Grabbed a rebound and on the way down slammed it 2 handed...see pic.

Also reported is Kimsey from Unioto has a 5 game dunk streak going on...

Victor Lundin from waverly got the dunk and one on west, 2 players hanging on him made the free throw. Saw the Brush dunk against Waverly that definately got the crowd fired up.
For the 18 and under group its pretty exciting to see a dunk in a game.
After watching the Kretzer boy hit 5 3's in the 4th quarter against Piketon the level of excitement is pretty close on both plays but I have to go with a dunk.

What is more exciting to watch? A three point competition or a slam dunk competition? I like to see players drain the three but there is something about seeing an athletic guy who can jump :122246 and dunk the ball with authority. The dunk revs the crowd up and also revs the team up. I hate seeing a guy all by himself down the floor just laying the ball in. I would rather see him dunk the ball with authority.

Well I guess if kids from Unioto are Dunking etta09 is right lol. Just Kidding. In all seriousness, Jaylen Ragland from Chillicothe threw one down in a JV game against Jackson a few weeks ago.

How does it take more skill to shoot a three and make it. Just about anyone who has shot a basketball in their life has made a three, but how many can say that they have dunked a basketball. In high school, there is a ton of momentum a team can get after a player from their team dunks the ball.

that's why i said if you are big. anybody with the size to dunk the basketball can do so. not anybody can shoot from range and make the shot, that is much more of a learned skill. they say a lay up is the easiest shot in basketball, so if you can dunk it then thats just an easier form of the layup. I'm not trying at all to say the kids that can dunk the ball are not talented don't get me wrong I believe they are very talented. I would just rather have a kid on my team who can give us 3 pts. when he touches the ball to help score more than a kid who dunks it just for the excitement.
