Tournament draw Div 3 and Div 4
Re: Tournament draw Div 3 and Div 4
No way is Piketon the #1 seed. They may be the best team...but are not deserving of the #1 seed.
No way to know NA's record playing Piketon's schedule and vice versa. Had Piketon not lost to Huntington an argument could be made.

2. Southern Very well coached and good shooters. Struggled with South Gallia the 2nd time
3. Waterford Shouldn't have lost lost 5 games
4. Beaver Eastern All their wins coming in a very weak league this year
5. Reedsville Eastern Playing good lately. Crushed Trimble and beat Fed Hock
6. Trimble Lost their big man and are struggling
7. South Gallia Won 4 of 6 as of late. Beating St. Joe and losing to Southern twice, Rock Hill twice, and Oak Hill. SOuth Gallia had a couple of kids back and are playing well.
8. St. Joe Lost to South Gallia and are losing of late
9. Symmes Valley Underachieving team. Lost 5 of 6 of late. Most losses coming at home recently.
10. Miller They are just rebuilding.
Actually Eastern Pike beat Coal Grove out of the OVC. The Hornets are 8-6(I believe CG has a win over South Point) and the Eagles also only lost to Minford who is 10-4 by 3 in OT. The Flacons are in 2nd place or 3rd place in the SOC2

Yeah Bozo we're nervous about the trip to kinnikinnick from up here in braves country. I just saw ZT's schedule and you guys play a tough one down there. That's what I like about Stiverson he plays a challenging schedule as well.
Goodluck until you play us .HEHEHE

I gave Beaver a well-deserved 4 seed. They shouldn't be above the other 3. I was just makin a point. Coacl Grove isn't a powerhouse.

Re: Tournament draw Div 3 and Div 4
I think that Portsmouth will probably do no better than a #6 seed.......but with the games the Trojans have left, it will be difficult to get a seed that high.........SEOAL games at Chillicothe, with Zanesville, Gallia Academy and Warren at home, with South Point, Northwest at home also.
Although Portsmouth is an unimpressive 6-5, the Trojans are quite a bit better than they were last year. The starting lineup could very well undergo another change with Forrest Johnson's good play of late.
It wouldn't surprise me if Portsmouth ends up a #7--#10 seed........probably not good news for the #1 or #2 seeds, but the Trojans are competing for a higher seed with teams that have better records. The loss at Jackson could really come back to haunt Portsmouth when the votes are cast.

It doesn't matter if you have a decent record! Know the right people you can have them vote for whatever seed from3 to 7. 1 and 2 seeds are usally obvious but the rest is political. If you have ever been to one of these things you would know why I am saying this, one of the dumbest ways to make a tourney OHSAA needs to think about a different way.

Crazy Legs: You're right......there's politics involved.......and sectional seeding has rarely been a fair process........I just don't think, though, that Portsmouth has much of a chance to be higher than a #7 seed.

To many games left to play right now. Waverly Div. III Sectional will be a killer. Right now if North Adams wins their next 4, they will be #1, if Piketon wins their next 3 they will be #2....then you have Valley, Peebles, Zane Trace, Adena, Westfall, Minford, Huntington, Portsmouth fighting over the seeds #3 thru #10, with that goes the politics of who wants to avoid who and what coach can be persuaded to vote a certain way. I'm sure people will try to avoid Portsmouth.

North Adams wouldn't beat Columbus Mifflin or Cinncinatti Clark Montessori both div.II schools.

Trojan Dave....I hate to say it, but if I were a betting man...I'd say the politics will likely line up a matchup between the Piketon Redstreaks and your beloved Trojans of P-town...pitting the Trojans vs. the former Trojan (Coach L). Something just tells me that however the stars line up, don't be shocked if it happens...who knows???

I don't think so....if Piketon wins out they will go into the draw at 15-2 which will give them #2....if North Adams gets upset, Piketon could go #1. Right now, you have several teams with identical records, so it depends on what Portsmouth does between now and the draw, with 5 L's right now, another one could push them to #9 or #10, a couple of wins and no more L's could move them into the #5 or #6 spot. Just too many games left right now and a lot of these teams with identical records in the SVC will be playing each other.

Jimmy...
I understand your logic and think in general you are correct...but the politics of the draw is much more than logic...and I'm thinking in the 2nd round, that's where you'd see it. may not happen, but don't be surprised.

You would think with alot of SVC schools in this sectional that Coach Lisath could avoid who he wanted considering Piketon will get the #1 or #2 seed.I just figured the SVC coaches would stick together.

How about some updates records for the Waverly Sectional.
Valley is 11-3. 9-2 in the SOC.
Worst case is they go to the draw 12-4. Barring something stupid, they will beat West on Friday. Then they have to go to Oak Hill the night before the draw. 13-3 should put them in the top 2. 12-4 they should be 3/4.

Re: Tournament draw Div 3 and Div 4
^^ I agree, IF Valley can go to Oak Hill and beat the Oaks again....they would almost have to be top 2. I think if Valley goes to the draw 13-3 with 2 wins over Oak Hill, they might take the #2 from Piketon. At 12-4 Valley gets a 3-4 like you said..
It will be an interesting draw to say the least..
