Chesapeake 72 Portsmouth 62 Final 2/17
Re: Chesapeake 72 Portsmouth 62 Final 2/17
The "lack of" transition defense did Portsmouth in tonight...imo...
It was good to see trojandave, Oz, dowwgg, and Moose at the game...Moose seems to be getting out a little more lately.. hopefully for good behaviour..
I also enjoyed visiting with Coach Shoemaker and his wife after the game... very nice people...
Good luck to the Trojans and the Panthers in post season play..

Big guy from Portsmouth was impressive. He had some nice moves and a soft touch. I just don't know if he was Ozzie or Biggdowgg.

Re: Chesapeake 72 Portsmouth 62 Final 2/17

had to be ozzie, I hardly move at all anymore

we lost both games tonight, but the night wasn't a total loss, had a great dinner at the Texas Road house, woth Tobias, ozzieohio, and plumb trojan, and his son.
we all had steak, except Plumb Trojans little one,who had chicken strips, and Tobias, who onlky ordered peanuts

Re: Chesapeake 72 Portsmouth 62 Final 2/17
Focused and biggdowgg echo my sentiments.......we lost because of poor transition defense........we just got outrun by the Panthers........that's supposed to be our strength, and Chesapeake beat us at our own game.
Congratulations to the Panthers on the win.........the Peake has a nice ballclub......they play hard for the full 32 minutes.........and they more than held their own on the boards with the taller Trojans.
Anthony Williams had a very good game for Portsmouth........the kid is good for a double double every night..........he has been fun to watch........one of the best post players we have had in quite a while.......I just hope he gets the opportunity to play at the next level.........Tory Horne had a nice offensive game for Portsmouth......he made some really nice moves to the basket, and showed his ability to hit from behind the arc.
I guess we Trojan fans keep hoping for improvement from this team, but like I told some people last night.......after 18 games, we are what we are........and this is the team that will go into the tournament Monday night.........there's nothing significant that's going to change.........still hoping, though, that we can play our best game at Waverly........if we do, we can beat anybody.........but it will take 4 good quarters of basketball.......we are capable of playing that way!!!
2 of the last 3 games we have been beaten badly on transition defense........and it resulted in us playing catch up very early..........and in both the Chillicothe and Chesapeake games, we never could climb out of the hole.........
Hopefully our kids can regroup tomorrow vs. Warren to get that elusive 10th win that Portsmouth has not seen since 2002...........
GO TROJANS!!!

The loss was the first for Portsmouth outside the SEOAL.......the Trojans are 3-8 in SEOAL play and 6-1 outside the league.........

Dave I was not able to make it hoped they could pull this one off!It seems like if they could get everyone playing good at same time could be very tough to handle but it aint over yet, just play hard and get ready for sectional.See you Monday for sure.

It was nice of Ozzie to come and introduce himself but those other guys looked kinda mean.
The trojans have an awful lot talent and IMO could beat anybody on any giving night in DIII. Dave hopefully our teams meet at the Convo. My wife said the Convo wouldn't be safe with both of us intensely rooting on our teams. Their is no other person in Se Ohio who is as passionate for his team as TrojanDave and I mean nobody!
