Re: Jackson 2009 Ironmen
I wonder how someone from East would consider moving to Jackson, I hope allthe kids from East stay together one more year. It would be a shame if East not only loses 2 coaches to Jackson but players as well. I wonder what kids from Jackson will think if transfers come in and play in front of them.
Re: Jackson 2009 Ironmen
The Jackson kids are happy in a way and i don't know if you would say angered or what because...Jackson has a tradition with football Being the JACKSON IRONMEN its not going to be the same if a bunch of east kids comes and plays.

Re: Jackson 2009 Ironmen
It doesn't matter anymore there are so many kids moving from one school district to the other that it has been accepted. At first they might stuggle to come together but in the long run they will as long as they start day one of practice together. I have seen in all the sports this year from a couple of different schools. It is rare anymore to get a group of kids that have played ball together since they were pee-wee. The kids mind set is to win in one year and talk about that year the rest of their lives not how they did it for multiple years or did it with kids they grew up with

Re: Jackson 2009 Ironmen
Keep in mind that the "tradition" resulted in not even having enough frosh to field a team last year so numbers will help, regardless of where they come from. Jackson is a growing community and kids move in all the time, that is a good thing. Some communities are losing families so be thankful.
Back in our day you only played with kids in your town or neighborhood but now with all the traveling sports opportunities these kids DO play and grow up playing against each other or together, especially with Ohio's stupid rules with AAU basketball, 3 per team from a school. Having coached some traveling squads I really see the benefit as competition is much much greater and development is far better when kids travel and play out of their community. I just wish these opportunties would have been existant 25 years ago.
Personnaly I still would not switch schools just to be a good hs team but if it meant collegiate opportunities then heck yeah. JHS does play in a league that subjects itself to scouting moreso than ANY other surrounding league. The new coach must be a good one if the kids want to follow him!!! Good luck this year and beyond, except one week.

Well said. The fact that players want to play for coach hall should tell Jackson people a lot.

Re: Jackson 2009 Ironmen
Why didn't the kids from Northwest want to go with Larry to East? because they weren't asked to go if he or The Head coach at Jackson are asking them to move to Jackson that is wrong and the people of Sciotoville shoudn't let this happen. East gave him and his son a job when no one else would they should leave these kids alone.
Re: Jackson 2009 Ironmen
With the type of Offense and defense the ironmen will be running this year, if executed properly they will be a team to mess with

He probably should have said "a force to be reckoned with" or something along those lines.

That may be the most ignorant thing I have ever heard. All of the quarters matter. If you are down 70-0 after three quarters of absolute suckage and then you have a stellar fourth quarter (42 points), you still lose!!!!
And on the other side, if you are destroying a team 70-0, then absolutely stink it up in the fourth quarter (surrendering 42 points), you still win!!!
Re: Jackson 2009 Ironmen
what that saying means is when the clock runs out it is over. if your beating a team by seventy then the fourth quarter doesnt come fast enough for the other team, so the fourth quater does matter and if you let a team score 42 in the fourth quarter then the end will not come fast enough.
