Besides playing Jackson, what other Waverly game did you watch that didn't impress you?

So Bucknut, Oak Hill beat Waverly by 2 and 8 so you're saying Chillicothe is better than the Division 4 defending state champs.

soccerfix,

While I don't agree or disagree with Bucknet27's prediction, I wonder what Oak Hill winning the D4 State Championship last year have to do with anything. Totally different year. That would be like someone saying Chillicothe won the State two years ago and is a Three-Time (Repeat) District Champion in the Southeast. This is 2010. New Year, New Teams, New 16-18 year olds.

This will be a competitive basketball game and I am sure the place will be rocking.

Just to answer your question, yes I think Chilli is better than OH. Although, I think it would be a good game if they met.

tigers2010..Jackson put a little pressure on Waverlys guards and Waverly had 3 or 4 turnovers back to back and Jackson was playing a zone..Chillicothe will be in there face all night

And Trooper...I saw the Logan Elm game and yes I know Chillicothe got beat to by them and trust me Chillicothe has probelms but I just do not see Waverly beating the Cavs not enough help for Kretzler who if it was not for him probably would be at home right now.

What kind of pressure will Chilli throw at the tigers? Half court, full, mixture? Any thoughts?

osubuckeyes2013, you really have got it wrong, Kretzler has struggled this season. (as good as he is.) Waverly's defence has been the biggest strength from this team, & the guards you so quickly can, have been a major part of there defence. Watch this teams guards feed Kretzler, Roback & Martian, Waverly will control the tempo of this game through there guards & come out winners.

I am talking about the Jackson game in the end, Kretzler took over in the end with a huge three then a steal and after that Jackson never recovered, Waverly is a good team no doubt about that I just do think they will handle the pressure Chillicothe will put on them and I might be wrong just my opinion like everyone else on here.

I really don't think Chillicothe is better than Oak Hill who is the defending State Champions and undefeated in 2010. Waverly stood toe to toe with them, trading punch for punch, in two very close games. The Tigers could have won both those games. I think the only common opponent was Logan Elm with similar results.

Waverly can win this game if they control the pace and play under control. The Tigers must stay out of foul trouble and shut down Turner. I'm sure Chilly will look to shut down Kretzer, not give him any open looks from long range, anothe reason Waverly needs to pound it down low.

Oak Hill Would snap Chilli like a twig absolutely the most physical team in southern ohio, they would be scraping bodies off of the hardwood, it would look like holmes vs ali lol

Snap away... lol. You guys are lost about this game. This game between the Cavs and Tigers should be a good game and fun to watch.

I like Hitchbones statement. Why are we even talking about Oak Hill on this thread. People are just not very smart. Duhhhhhh...

Exactly right crazymidgest, play physical and smart and the Tigers move on. Hopefully the officials let them play physical like they normally do in the tournemant.

My thoughts are Waverly needs to take care of the ball nothing fancy dont force the ball and start off by pounding it down inside, then pound it some more when they are done with that pound it some more. I would have all three bigs in the blocks all night, this isnt about style point this is just about the W. Go Tigers
Waverly 46-Chilli 42
If they do that Malik might get a career high in block shots!

Or Malik will foul out in the first quarter.

I believe Waverly needs to use they're strength. I would go after Malik and try to get him in foul trouble. If they can score in the paint they will be in this game. If they try to run with the Cavs they will go down in flames. Waverly needs to try to be very physical with Chilli.

On the flip side, If I'm Chilli, I'm gonna run, run and run some more. Pressure the crap out of the guards and make that post entry a difficult pass with someone in your face.

This should be a good game. I don't see a blow out either way but I'm taking the speed of Chillicothe.

Very good analysis. I also think Chilli should get physical with Waverly. If they do it will get in the Waverly players heads and they will lose their composure. OH did this and it worked to perfection.

Waverly lost their composure against Oak Hill, are you kidding me? If you were at the game you know Waverly did not back down at all. The most "physical" play took place in the 1st half and it was a tie game at one point in the 4th. It was a 3 point game with 3 minutes play. Waverly can play a physical game. The only thing I can think of as to why anyone would say Waverly lost their composure was the T on Robertson but he knew he was getting T'd up - he was defending his player who had just been the recipient of a head lock and being held down on the floor with no call.

Bring on the physcial play - Waverly is ready!

Malone Was the only player from Waverly that played physical during the Oak Hill game

Yeah Kretzer did step up for the tigers on tuesday night to help advance them in tourny play, but if it wasn't for Turner, i doubt the cavs would be sitting where they are now either.
