Thar's funny. Do you think Huntington Ross and Rock Hill are stronger teams than Athens and Rock Hill? Just asking.

IMO, CG wins this one with a walk off HR with 50 sec. or less in the game.

Coal Grove lost a lot, losing Delawder, Haynes, Ferguson, and I'm sure I'm forgetting others from a talented team last year. I just don't see them pulling out the victory on Friday. Valley by 2 scores.

This game will not be on VSN according to the kids doing the broadcasting against Huntington. I didn't ask why, but it is the only home game not on VSN.

This is the year for Valley. The best coached team against a team with discipline problems that has probably underperformed. Valley very big. Coal Grove lost way too much to compete with Valley.

When was the last time Valley beat Coal Grove?
Anybody have the scores from previous years or information about this series?
Valley has lost the last two years but I'm not sure what happened before 2008.

I'm really concerned about the personal foul penalties they have been getting almost cost CG the game last week. The kids dont even come out of the game? Kind of reminds me when someone else use to get them and never came out. Discipline will be the key to the Hornets succsess this year, against a good team I hope it doesnt cost them.

the grove also has 2 or 3 players to replace every position except quarterback.. but hopefully they won't put the kid on defense like they did last year, so far so good. I think
everyone is going to get a surprise with this group of kids and the defense is really looking tough..so look out valley..the grove is my pick!!

Valley might come out and win by 50. I'm pretty sure that will not be the case. But regardless, what I do know is that as a fan, I'm just as confident in a backfield with Bubba Wood, Boo Woods, Alex Bare, and/or Greg Bender as I was with last year's line up. This team is no less talented than last year's and to say it is shows that you know next to nothing about the Hornet team and had better leave the game plan to the coaches of Valley.

Don't normally venture outside of the TVC and SEOAL in my game predictions, but I've been following these two teams the last couple of years. Some of these predictions, well, frankly, they are kind of "out there". This game will not be a blow out, unless there are a couple of key injuries.

I disagree with Fan-o-Sports on this one. Coal Grove has played much better competition than Valley to date. And if my memory is correct, Valley has had problems the last couple of years in big games.

My intuition tells me CG will walk away with a win here, by 4 points. That being said, it could very, very easily be Valley by 4 points as well. This one is my "toss-up" game of the week.

Good luck to both teams!

I think Valley needs to quit worrying about what we have on offense and start worrying about our defense, that is what kept us in it last week and I believe will be the major factor this week.

Which is why I hope the Grove got their mistakes out of their system last week.
