SP is the Grove's biggest rival, no matter what anyone says. The Hornets should not overlook this team. That being said, that place will be as dead as a door nail Friday - watch and see. The fan base doesn't care. Half of them left after the homecoming ceremonies last week. I think it's pathetic, quite frankly. So I'm going to watch the biggest game in the county this week - where people do care what the home team does. Maybe next week when the Hill comes to town some people will make some noise. I was ashamed to be in the stands last week - the most important game of the year so far and you could have heard a pin drop.

CG will win this by at least 2-3 TDs....same style of play. Hope for injury free for both teams...

I agree with the fuzz on the lack of enthusiasm by the fans..sad story at Coal Grove:(
I am picking the grove over sp and i'm thinking that cg should run the table in ovc play if they
are willing to dig down deep. Lets hope the coaches switch things up and get some nice play calls in place for the rest of the year. Good luck to Big Dad and the Hornets for a win!

Oh, I agree with Fuzz to, and it is a sad thing to sit and watch your team play a great game and you are one of the only people screaming and cheering them on. I think one problem with the fan base is they are watching with caution, we have seen our team give up big plays and lose games that we feel they should have won, I believe a lot of people are sitting in the stands wanting to cheer but at the same time wondering when the other shoe will fall and something bad will happen. I will be there on Friday night watching and cheering for my Grove and hope everyone else will make the Pat the loudest stadium in Lawrence County this Friday, so come on Grove, lets make some noise.

IMO, the community businesses need to step up and show some more support. Giovannis is the only place in town that you ever hear about donating stuff - the pizza for the concession stand. Go down to the Tank and listen to all the stuff they give away to fans in raffles and stuff like that. Heck! Have a cornhole tournament at the school a couple of hours before the game. Do something to get people to come out and get pumped. People act like they're above cheering the team on or yelling, as if it's wrong or rude or something. I'd rather have a couple hundred fans who are gonna make noise every play than I would 1000+ who act like they're just there to talk and eat and maybe watch some football.
There's just so much more everyone could do.

But there is the problem fuzz,,,,look at where you are talking about, half the people at the game are there just to be noticed, and that is a shame, I go to watch football and to cheer on my school, not to just be noticed out and not to go be social with anyone else, I go just for the whole atmosphere, the football team, the band, the cheerleaders, I wish things could be like they use to be, I can remember a time when the Pat was so loud you couldn't even hear yourself think.

Will be tough for the Grove to garner any playoff points from OVC teams this year, since their record is the only respectable one of the league teams, hope the 4 teams that they have already beaten run the table for those second level points.

South Point has played a tough non-conference schedule this year with 3 of their 4 loses still undefeated but saying that most of them also played the rest of the OVC so not sure how much I would read into that.

Hopefully this will be a good game but I am not sure if South Point can hang with the hornets but South Point has moved the ball against the teams I have watched even though they are small. I think the hornets will win but I am going to say closer than the experts think.

Greenup County loses in the last seconds as Rowan County nails a 45-yard field goal. Other than that, Athens beats Meigs and Trimble beats Waterford. Decent night at the ballfield...

Way to take care of business last night Grove. Sounds like matters were well in hand early. Sounds like SP is even farther down than last year. They gave the Hornets a nice little battle up front a year ago.

fuzz u may have had a heartattach if u were at the game last night. with under 2 min. left in first half, cg got the ball on their own 15 and came out in a spread offese. completion to morrison, 1 to steele, and td to murphy , in 3 plays. #4 can throw the rock if lucas would use him more, it would only help open up the running game more. only way u can win in big time games is to open it up some, i wish coach would see this. u need to adapt to the talent u have.
