I would not say that getting letters even remotely resembles getting recruited. Neither does an unnoficial vist. An officila visit however, is certainly being recruited. Scholarship offer or not. There were at least 6 or 7 players at OSU's spring game today that do not have offers. Probably 4 or 5 of them will not get offers. They are still recruits however. They were invited by the school because of their football playing ability. If you could take an official visit without being recruited, I would have taken visits at Ohio State when I was in high school.

Also to you who dont know recruitig. You cannot have an official visit till your senior year and you cannot be called till spring if your junior year! So the best signs for a junior is an unofficial visit and also hand written letter or individualized emails. I dont know how you expect an official visit when its against the ncaa rules

Vikings52,

I was a recruiting coordinator for Marshall, I have worked for scout, I have ran combines. I am well up to date on how it all works.

As I previously stated he is not a Michigan recruit. He may be a kid they are aware of, but that does not make you a serious prospect. I am really sorry that it hurts your feelings to hear that, but truth hurts sometimes.

How many junior days has your friend-son-whatever been invited to attend? How many offers does he have verbal or written? These are things that will tell you if the attention the prospect is getting is serious or not. Getting letters saying come to camp usually means---we don't like you enough to offer so you better put on a good show in person at our camp.

I have nothing against anyone, but some people choose to live in a fairy tail world.

Great points and there are fairy tales. But theres things people dont know between the school and the recruit in any situation and michigan looks like they have found their guys. So thats probably not a good combine to attend linebacker wise and their intrest is probably low now

DeVon Sharp from Athens is getting looks from different schools from D-1 to D-3. He has a couple of visits coming up.
