A probable destination, no doubt.

However, McNicholas plays on field turf - which negates some of Gallia Academy's "home field advantage" since the Devils play on a natural surface.

Hell or high water, GAHS is going to try and play at Memorial Field.

Count on it.

bdubya......Come Hell or high water.

Now that would make for an awesome lead! :)

GalliaGrad78......God works in strange ways, and HIS way MAY be moving the game to Jackson — as "punishment" for the Blue Devils defeating the Ironmen.

SEOAL title....or.......playoff game at Jackson?

Gotta choose one I guess. ;-)

I WAS pretty proud of that one, thank you very much. :122245 ;-)

I hope the game ends up where it belongs, in Gallipolis.

Sure, then Jackson could scoop up a thousand or two in parking fees! WOW!

McNicholas wants the game moved to Jackson no matter if the field is playable or not. But, it will be at Gallia as long as it's playable. Ether way expect the stadium to be packed with not only Gallia and McNicholas fans, but also Wellston, River Valley, and maybe some Jackson fans.

good luck to the blue devils. i wish ya'll all the luck in the world. that field is gonna be like playing in pudding. i promise you that. as long as that plays into the running game, that would be great then. it is a big advantage to you guys in my opinion.ball security will be a yougotta.i hope you are able to keep the game there , because you earned it. i'm gonna miss those blue devil/fighting tiger matchups in year to come.good luck blue devils from this fighting tiger fan, and the baitcave.

I think in this case, the field will be a huge advantage to Gallia. The mud, dirt, Chickamauga crud, and anything else that lies on the surface of that field are things that McNick have never experienced. It will come down to the big men upfront and ball control. Last time Gallia hosted a playoff game (2005), both teams put on a show. Let's hope the same happens this time, with a different outcome!

Finally we can stop talking about the field... Never thought it would change anyway.. If McNick runs a spread offense a wet field could help them. And the last time I saw Gallia we depended on the pass quite a lot. I am sure the city boys won't be intimidated by a muddy field.. Team that executes the best will win... Gallia needs to catch the ball more often and cut down on stupid penalties. Someone please tell our coach that you can't carry TO's from the first half to the second half...LOL...

I got to go with them Blue Devils. I dont feel so bad about losing so decisively now. Rooting for all the play off teams we played. Had NY not of lost one of their first two games we would have lost to five. Good luck Big Blue!!

Keep your heads on straight and if things dont look like they are going your way. Keep playing smart and you will be right there. don't worry about the field, you have been playing on that field since MFL in all kinds of weather. Nothing changes.... After an evening of an interesting email, a phone call and a few text messages, I can say this:

The idea of moving the game to Jackson is indeed — and rather rapidly — gaining ground.

However, that does NOT mean it ultimately gets moved.

Gallipolis needs to do everything to protect keeping the game on Memorial Field. We earned that right to play at our facilities to have home field advantage. IMO bring Archbishop McNicholis to Memorial Field and give them a taste of a good ole fashion game in the natural elements. That will negate the speed of their game. ;-)
