Ironton/Coal Grove will be a reality within 5 years. People from both sides will be against it - delusional people, still living in the 90s - but it will happen.
I'd like to see Oak Hill and/or Symmes Valley on the Hornets' schedule sometime soon, as well.

Vinton County vs Southeastern. The schools are only a few miles apart and play each other in every other sport. It would have the potential to become a pretty good rivalry.

I would like Ironton to schedule Clarksville Clinton-Massie HS located just outside Wilmington, OH, my hometown. They're a powerhouse team in our size range and not much farther travel distance/time than Columbus area teams are.
They play Col Bishop Hartley next week in the tournament - I'm rooting for C-M!!

I completely agree, I have been saying this for a long time now. Those two programs are pretty much a mirror image of each other. Ironton has more tradition, but massie has had a little more success as of late. It would be a dog fight, two teams that run double-tight full house backfields for most of the game. Also, everyone could stop at Rod's before the game, it's a great place to eat!

i would love to see valley play jackson or ironton. yeah to me a yearly game with wynford would be great but it would never happen. i would like to play some of the teams from columbus like columbus west and briggs not sure what division they are in. only reason i would like to play them tho is when i lived in columbus my x went to west and i had to go to every game. i know we could beat them and by a lot. would love to put a beat down on her old team lol. oh and trust me you do not want any part of hillard davidson.

As an Ironton fan im staying away from all the pwers we would normally play for the next few years. Our numbers are down, the talent level is down, just a away to lose confidence and being just physically dominated. Id like to see Coshocton on the schedule down the road or Heath. I like the local games but not to many on a schedule its hard to make the playoffs that way. The Ironton wins over Ashland, Gallia, and Burg, essentially got them to the playoffs so games like that are still needed, just not someone like Desales or Harltey that will just embarass us.

that would be a interesting matchup between burg and hd. if burg could some how pull off the upset imagine the 2nd level points. i wouldn't mind seeing burg pick up reitz. bring back coach lewis for a home and home. the past couple yrs have been pretty good for fairview in westwood ky. yea they are losin 6000+ yards of rushing in the 3 senior backs but they have some good players comin back.
