The other 3 were all in double digits, despite being undersized compared to Portsmouth. A small, perimiter based team will not be successful without some contribution from the guards. From talking to a couple Portsmouth fans at halftime, they said that Portsmouth was playing much better than they did at SW, but maybe a PHS fan who saw both games can give a better comparison. From what I heard, they played much better defense last night and had much better shot selection.ManitouDan wrote:Carter huge for the trojans tonight . Burg is offensively challenged and has no height whatsoever . Interested to know how much better the trojans played tonight than the opener at SW .
We played better against Burg compared to Webster, but a lot of what we did bad against South Webster was missed shots. We missed a ton of free throws and a ton of open looks from the perimeter and even bunnies. Misses and makes from the field will come and go, however the biggest improvement that we made from game one to game two was getting back on defense. SW beat us down the court countless times, which was surreal. That didn't appear to be an issue against Wheelersburg. We still have a lot of improvement to do. We only have one player back from last years roster that made it to the State Championship game. And he was big for us last night. We started a freshman, a sophomore, a junior, and 2 seniors......and then we had a freshman, another sophomore, a junior and a second senior who were in the rotation last night.
