Oaks went three for three last night with wins over River Valley, Symmes Valley and Meigs. The Oaks played better this week and will continue to improve as the baseball players get their basketball legs. The bigs are going to have to work hard to get more rebounds as they will probably be the smaller team most nights. The guards shot the ball well and when we moved to the big gym they done a good job of pushing the ball up the court for several transition baskets. Work hard, work smart, and you will get better. GO OAKS!

Piketon went 2-1 last week beating River Valley and Nelsonville, and falling to Minford.

Redstreaks have been playing well this summer with a lot of new faces, playing with a lot of chemistry. Things are looking bright for the 'Streaks on the upcoming season if we can keep playing the way we have been playing to start the summer.

Week one they were missing all boys who had any varsity time last season. Last week everyone was back and showed improvements each game as they learned how everyone plays and think with a little more time together they will be ok. Very young group with only one starter back and only 2 others with any varsity play time. New coach hopefully will work on fundamentals.

Thanks. During past few years, I followed GAHS teams when grandsons were playing.
Still interested in how the kids are doing.

The Oaks went 3 for 3 last night, wins against Nelsonville York, Southern and Piketon. A couple of the sophomores played a lot last night due to a couple of the upper classmen out with minor injuries. The youngsters played much better last night than in previous weeks. Hopefully they listen to Coach and focus on what he tells them, which is probably, rebound, play great defense and rebound. The Oaks play again Friday at the Rio Shootout.

Oaks had a good day at Rio going 3 for 4 and even tho they apparently lost to Fort Frye for the 2nd time this summer, they are going to keep playing basketball and attend the final week of summer league in Jackson.

Oak hill played Minford for first and second place - not sure who won
Ny beat Piketon for third - Piketon fourth
Believe Symmes Valley beat Meigs for fifth - Meigs sixth
South Gallia beat Gallia for seventh - Gallia eighth
River Valley, Jackson and Southern ninth thru eleventh
Great league, well run, good competition.

Did GAHS have all its players? If so, looks like it's gonna be another long season for the big Blue.
