[quote="Dundas"]Series stats..
Wellston leads the all time series 30-16. The Rockets have won 5 straight against the Vikings. This is the longest series in Vinton County football history dating back to 1967. 1966, the year VC consolidated, was the only season these two teams didn't play. With the exception of two seasons (08, 09) this has been the final game of the season since 1983. Since joining the TVC in 1982, the Rockets hold a 16-15 game edge in TVC play. Since the TVC split in 1993, Wellston holds a 12-8 advantage in TVC Ohio play. Wellstons longest winning streak is 10 games (1973-82) VC's longest winning streak is 9 games (1987-95) The Rockets have scored 1173 points (25.5 ppg) while VC has scored 634 points (13.8 ppg)[/quote

Wellston and VC played week 9 in 1987 and 1988. Wellston played Jackson week 10 both of those seasons

This game will be a battle. A rivalry game of two hard hitting teams with nothing to lose. IMO,.. Wellston will have to be able to stop the vc's run game to be successful and vc will have to be able to defend the pass to be successful. I look for a low scoring game. Wellston wins this one 13-6

I thought it would be low scoring last year and it was anything but. I really don't know what to expect except the fact that VC will want to run and Wellston will look to pick apart VC's secondary.

I was told that it is in the works to annex Hamden and Dundas into the Wellston City School system . This would help Vinton become smaller in size and allow them to drop in the divisions . Most kids from Hamden and Dundas would prefer to go to Wellston anyways . Since they show favoritism to the Mcarthur kids in Vinton .

It would also raise the IQ levels of both places.

No it doesn't. We are to predictable on offense, we gamble to much on defense, can't defend the pass, and if you stop and listen you here the faint sound of thuds of a basketball being dribble, the cans of butt-whoopins will be open up soon.

General.. we may be predictable but every team knows what they're facing in an opponent by week 10. This is the biggest game of the year for VC and they will be ready. They'll line up and run it right over the Rockets. The question is, will they commit a ton of penalties and hold on to the ball? If so, I think the Vikings have a good chance to finish .500 for the first time since 2006. And btw, basketball's are always bouncing in VC.

Boiler...The best athletes from Hamden already go over the hill to play for Wellston, so I agree, let's just let the Wellston school district have them. As for Dundas kids.. they bleed maroon and white.

Would anyone be willing to send me updates on this game? This one has a pretty big impact on Oak Hill and where they finish in the playoff seedings and thus determine Valley's first round matchup.

If you are willing, please PM me your number.

Boiler is just jealous of our nice field/facilities. Even ESPN couldn't do enough to fix Wellstons. :)

Jealous of Vinton , please :roll: Your stadium is nice but field is a swamp . How many goats does it take to keep it mowed :razz: .
FYI , what espn did was all bells and whistles ... a little paint and lots of show . Eddie George did put a new field in for us , drainage (something you guys should look at ) and sprinklers and sod . Much appreciated by that former Buckeye. espn .....Please...... :roll:

We only waterdown your side of the field boiler. We have drains all around it too. Its funny that you're complaining about our field when up until ESPN threw grass seed down on yours, it was like concrete with some dirt and grass clippings everywhere :)

VC is going to run it right at Wellston and I think the Vikings will stop the pass this week. Its do or die time. No game next week, so leave it all on the field fellas!

Dundas please stop lowering yourself to that idiots level. He is beneath you on so many levels. He is jealous and he is an idiot. And he doesn't deserve your time, energy, or conversation. Our boys will do us proud tonight any way it goes. If we win that guy is a lame. If we lose guess what he is still a lame.
