I believe one of the other coaches are taking care of the conditioning, maybe the G.O.A.T can answer that .

Everyone is optimistic at this point (as we should be). The big questions for West will be: can we have someone step-up and be a stud ? are we disciplined up front? And can we keep receivers in front of us?

As much as a lot of would like to see the offense modernize,We are going to run the ball 45-55 times a game. In order to do this we have to have some depth at running back and the aforementioned good line play. I think we have will have both, but we do not have the one workhorse we have had in years past (Pendleton(s), seevers, swords, auger, etc). Maybe Bricker can take that role? Our offense gives a lot backs the chance to get touches, but we will have to see who can step up and be the "go-to" back.

On defense, we got beat on the big play a lot. I believe our speed will be better, but will it be better than the 6 teams (other than chilli) that beat us? A lot of this can resolved by dictating the pace of the game and relying on our strength and aggressiveness, but secondary play must improve to battle for the league/playoffs.

I agree with sider on a lot of what he said. Unfortunately the offense will probably be the same as it has been. We will only be as good as the guys up front are, which is more a reason we should be changing things up. If we play one dimensional it means the defense can play one dimensional as well. We cant continue to allow teams to put 8 or 9 in the box.

The purpose of the web site is to talk football. If we simply got on here and made vague statements with no insight, there would be no reason to be on here at all.

I've never said I was an expert. I have been around this game at every level as a player and a coach. I can tell you this it doesnt take an expert to realize that if you run the ball 95% of the time every team you play is going to load the box to stop it.

I would really like to believe that number but that just doesnt seem accurate from what I seen. If that is the case the majority of those passes wouldve been on 3rd and longs and late in the game when we was behind. When you have a young QB you have to give him chances to throw when he has the best chance to suceed. Thats not when everyone knows you have to throw. Dont get me wrong I'm all for running over people but if it aint working you have to be willing to change it up.

That aint trash talk that is stating the obvious. Yes I know they were young last year which was one of the points i was trying to make. YOU HAVE TO GIVE A YOUNG TEAM THE CHANCE TO SUCEED!!!! That is why you dont throw when it is 3rd and long. Maybe when you get a little older you will read the whole comment before jumping to conclusions and assume everything is trash talk.

vague statements with no "insight". lol.

Here is some insight. Last year West had a real young team. :-D This year they should be a year older and smarter cause they got a lot of time on the field. If they worked hard in the off season, they listen to what they are told and LEARN, they are very athletic and can win the league and continue to play post season. The main ingredient missing from last years team was leadership and focus. The rest I will leave up to the coaches who put the time in, see these players day after day, know what they can do, who needs to be out there on Friday nights. I trust they want to win as much as we want them to win. Yep I played ball and was successful at it. All the more reason I see showing respect to a team and coaches that from what I hear, is working hard. And they haven't even played a game yet. ;-) So best of luck West! Go out and win it all. In my humble opinion, it is entirely possible.

I have my oppinions just like everyone else. It kills me when people get on here and take your opinions and try and make it out like you are degrading someone. If you dont like my opinions that is your choice but don't try and make me out to be the bad guy. I know there hasn't been a game playe yet that is why we are talking about what we would like to see this year not what we thought about what happened during the game. Congrats on playing college ball that is GREAT!!
And why would I need anti depressants I couldn't be happier its Football season.

Idiotic 8) Youre so cool dude.

I have heard only good things so far about West. A lot of good teams this year, lets hope West keeps focused on the prize because they are as capable as anybody.
