Finals as I have them :

Fairland 70
Lanett AL 72

... Fairland came from 16 down with 12 minutes to play to tie the game at 70-70 ... Lanett scored on a tipin off of a missed shot at the buzzer ... good stuff from the Dragons on their NC swing for the holidays ... Fairland takes on Myrtle Beach HS Friday ... Dragons were led by 21 points from Luke Thompson and 17 from Keedrick Cunningham ...

Vinton County 49
Maysville 68

VC put up only 15 points in the 2nd half ... a couple key Napkin Stats : 2 points from the bench, 6 points from the BIGS inside the paint on the night ... VC went 3/19 from behind the arc ... 2/9 from the FT line ... Eli Griffith is on crutches - sorely missed in the paint ... VC was led by Naylan Yates with 19 points ... it was good to see Nevan Yates back on the floor for the Vikings ... imo's : right now VC has no options in the paint for scoring or passing back out to the perimeter ... VC is struggling to defend in the paint and the 3 point shot on the perimeter ... Defensive or Offensive rebounding tonight was not there ... 2/9 from the FT line tells me that the Vikings are not getting the ball into the paint to the post players, the BIGS are not talking it to the rim ... offensively a lot of one on one ... ball movement via the pass ? I'm used to seeing solid picks from the Vikings in running a motion offense - not seeing any offense other than trying to create your own, one on one ... defensively again I am accustom to the Vikings "beating up their opponent - legally" with the body, used to seeing a VC defense keeping opponents from getting to spots on the floor - tonight Maysville seemed to be able to get in the paint, get to the rim, get open on the perimeter ... lots of work to do in the VC camp ...

Coal Grove 76
Palmetto Christian Academy 54

Adena 59
McClain 54

Federal Hocking 60
So. Gallia 53

... Congratulations to the Lancers on their first W in 2 seasons ! Way to go Coach Dunigan ! your troops took Waterford to OT before dropping that one, then another good outing vs Belpre all adds up to tonight's W vs South Gallia ... nice job Lancers & Coach Dunigan ...

Logan Elm 70
Westfall 51

Ravenswood WVa 47
Southern 35

Meadowbrook 69
Marietta 49

Sheridan 81
Licking Valley 54

Miami Trace 59
Madison Plains 52

... if there's more out there post 'em please ...

What is going on with VC??
Maysville not very good?
They're not awful, but they're not good.

... Maysville goes to 5-2 with the W over VC tonight ... not sure if the Panthers are as good as VC made them look in the 2nd half tonight ... Maysville works hard off the ball and has some nice players who can finish and knock down the triple when left to spot up for an open look ...

I'm really more just interested in what's going on with VC. If it's things they can fix. But you had a pretty good write up earlier of what's going on. Still gotta think at some point they get it going.

Well, I remember him coming to Jackson in the mid/late 80’s while playing for Logan. He was quite the player too....and I am old (but not as old as him :P
