Re: Pryor Starting at QB Today
Not too bad for a true frosh and his first collegiate start. Four TD's and one pick. But I agree with Beanie taking some pressure of of Pryor the offense might get going. Now the D needs to step up dramatically. Give up 310 yards to Troy in the "shoe." Illinois and the team up north will run all over them with their spread.

The Freshman did not look bad but as a team there is a ton of work to do.

Re: Pryor Starting at QB Today
Oh, gee, I guess setting a new freshman quarterback record with four touchdown passes is pretty good (personally I thought it should have been five), especially on his first start, and considering "some" thought he shouldn't have started, a record that has stood since 1978.....for thirty years. Tressel must have a little more knowledge than others, oh, and the majority of 'Buckeye' fans are pretty smart too.
I did feel sorry for Boeckman when he threw that short pass in the turf and the stadium booed, but not sorry enough to let him have the starting position back. Coleman had a great game, good to see him back. I loved this quote of Pryor's after the game, shows that he's like a sponge and "wants" to improve to the best of his abilities.
“I thought I messed up a lot. When we sit down in the film room, I’m going to get yelled at but that’s a good thing. We all need to keep improving going into the Big Ten schedule.â€
Can you imagine how good he will be if he does this in his first start as a true freshman? It's going to be fun watching him.

Everyone is praising the kid and we have to read your posts that always have a negative connotation. He looked good against an average team, we'll see how good he is when PSU rolls around.

I will continue to say that your negative "he's not quite good enough yet" posts are influenced by the fact you are a Michigan fan and you prove it by that last statement. The Troy game was his first start, and he broke a thirty year record, you can't take that away from him or any Buckeye fan, no matter what occurs the rest of the season.
I also don't have to take your foul mouth or name-calling. I may be a smartarse but I'm a smartarse that never played the 'game' but knew Pryor had it in him, and that the OSU team needed the morale boost or something to get them fired up again.
Now back to the topic which was what my post was about.
Pryor played a great game today, for his first start, record breaking, and he did it with a great deal of humility towards Boeckman. I see only good things for his future and I hope more than anything his starting creates the fire that this group of players seems to need. Go Bucks!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Pryor Starting at QB Today
I've posted on this site for a long time, and you have done an excellent job of making it unenjoyable because we don't worship at the throne of OSU or Pryor. Go back, read my posts all throughout the game, and tell me where I say a negative word about the kid. I still question his ability to throw the deep ball, oh well. He had a nice game, he made mistakes, as you posted, that is all I am pointing out. He had a pretty good game. Go bakc and tell me where my so called biase as a Michigan fan came in.
We all have fun discussing on this site, you make things personal. Yes, you are a female. Yes, you have never played the game. All facts. I guess Desmond Howard can't have an opinon about OSU because he played for Michigan. Shot Herby shouldn't be able to post on this site ever about Michigan becaue it wouldn't be his place.
I never said he is not good enough. I said he needs to be able to throw the deep ball or teams will come after him. That is not negative, that is a critique.
Uh oh, foul mouth, uh oh....Give me a break. You are just like anyother fan who says things based on nothing but you are a fan. You have never steped on a field, or been in a positions meeting, or off-season workouts. Only thing you know is you read what Tress says.
John Navarre also threw for 5 td's vs Bowling Green as a frosh, did I do a backflip?

Re: Pryor Starting at QB Today
Pryor can play and I didn't see any negative post from anyone about his performance. It would be interesting to see Pryor and Beanie Wells together and see what the Buckeye offense can do.
My question is this, how much playing time does Tressel give Boeckman the rest of the season? Does he totally go with Pryor or does he split time between them? Tressel has been known to stay loyal to a senior and not totally drop him, especially a player who helped lead them to the BCS championship game last year.

You haven't been paying attention to college football. Troy destroyed the team that beat Maryland. Last year, Troy score 90+ points combined in three games against Georgia, Florida, and Arkansas. They have also pulled some serious upset in the last couple of years. I was honestly worried about an upset before the game today.
OSU needs to pick up the intensity level. This team has played like they are just going through the motions. They need to raise their physicality, intensity, passion, and ferocity. The talent if plenty on this team (only ?s the lines on both sides, where the frosh are the most talented). They just don't play with near the passion as past OSU teams, and other current teams (watching LSU/Auburn...they just play harder). If OSU picks it up, I think they have a solid chance at winning out. If they don't, I see 9-3, maybe worse. It's all effort and enthusiasm IMO.

And you are rude and arrogant. I have read nothing that Tressel has said concerning today's game but speak from what I witnessed at today's game. Why do you presume that any fan is not capable of watching a game and coming to conclusions concerning the game on their own? Do you feel that superior to those that are fans of the sport and follow a specific team to the point that you feel they know nothing about what they speak of?
I also don't have to read back through this thread to find any negative posts, in fact in this thread, the one posted while the game was on and Pryor had started and was doing very well for his first time, you climbed onto the Pryor bandwagon and even considered drinking TP kool-aid, a much different tune than your posts on the thread that was removed.
I had a wonderful time at today's game, just as I was hoping I got to see Pryor in his first collegiate start and even break a school record. I have high hopes for his continued success with the Buckeye football program. I think he recognized his mistakes that were made and is ready and willing to work to correct them.
Go Bucks!!!!!!!

Re: Pryor Starting at QB Today
first off next year he'll be a sophomore and you can only head to the draft after your junior year or you have been out of high school for three years. and no i think he will stay for four years he seems like the type of player that
wants to learn everything he can and win a national championship before he leaves and i can see beanie leaving because he is predicted to be first round pick but he should stay because he is prone to injuries and no nfl teams wants to draft a running back that is prone to injuries

Yes. In one word, yes; if that person is you than yes.
Many buckeye fans said McGuffie wouldn't be a good college rb, have I tried to be a nag and point them out negatively like yourself, no.
I am aloud to have my own opinion and observation of TP, just because I don't worship at his feet doesn't mean I don't think is a good player. He did well, he also scrambled for a 17 yard loss to end the half. Why is it you only point out things he does well?
Anyways, I don't respect your opinion, not because you cheer for the buckeyes, but because you sound like everyother fan who has no knowledge.
Please tell me what makes him so great at this point. Tell me how he looks in his drops, do you see if he is stadning tall or standing balanced when he makes his throws? Is he throwing off his front foot or back? Is he checking down or just throwing to his primary wideout? Is he checking off at the line of scrimmage? Throw something in factual, other than he gets his teammates fired up, and maybe I will take you serious.

Re: Pryor Starting at QB Today
If Beanie decides to go pro after the season his stock will be awful. Played in one game against a FCS team and who knows how much more he will play this season.
