Kuhn 10
Bragg 9
Spires 7
Erwin 6
Hammond 4
Blankenship 2
Woodard 2
Good game. Two weeks of being quarantined and missing practices and only 1 early scrimmage...lost the district POY and elite guard and did alright. Good efforts. Coach mixed in a lot of lineups and likely learned a lot for his usage in upcoming games. A lot of new varsity faces and a whole bunch of kids needed to step up.
Evan Spires was excellent and Jackson was better when he was on the court. Kuhn led in scoring, Bragg got us started and helped finish off the game. Erwin played strong and was a positive player on the game. Hutch gave good minutes and defense. Hammond was a communicator! Tough matchups for him but he stayed on the court and battled all game. Blankenship and Woodard gave some big minutes.
It was a tough game....great to get the win, get a game in and get going.
I thought Stacy Ragland called a very good game on the officiating end. Bald guy was very good as well!

I see a Jackson squad who will be athletic enough to guard really well but will struggle to find a go to scorer. My guess is they will have several different guys lead them in scoring this year in games. That can be good and bad at times.
Ironman92, if you had to pick 1 kid on that team to get you a basket who would it be?
Re: MT @ Jackson 12/4
I’ll play because this place is dead as can be. Mostly depends on the team on the court we are facing...but my clutch gotta have open 3 is going to be Drew Bragg. I want the ball in the hands of Evan Spires to make it happen. In a one on one situation with normal refs officiating it regularly...Spires with the ball getting to the basket and drawing the foul for free throws....if nothing is getting called then Bragg to try and finish it from the floor.mlittle wrote: Sat Dec 05, 2020 3:25 pmGood win for the Ironmen. But we are best working the ball around and getting an open look for several others. Boston Kuhn gets as hot shooting as anyone around if we get him his shot.
Holden Blankenship has had a knack throughout his life on the court and field of making the clutch play...Nate Woodard yearns for the moment like that and he can hit from about anywhere.
For an injury to a player and someone off the bench to hit a clutch free throw....I’ll be a homer and take my kid
We all knew the answer last year...this year we are still learning. Our team is different and I like it.

Thanks for playing. I was just curious and it was hard to tell in that game last night.Ironman92 wrote: Sat Dec 05, 2020 3:40 pmI’ll play because this place is dead as can be.
