D2 Scores and Updates 2022
Re: Division II SE District Thread
I know normally coaches will mainly go by record in seeding voting, but I don't see how Waverly wouldn't get the #1 seed this year. I don't think any intelligent coach would hold competitive losses to Newark and Upper Arlington against them.
After Waverly a bunch of teams bunched together based on records. Next couple weeks should help separate some of those teams. Sheridan I know has 3 or 4 really tough games coming up with Logan, Meadowbrook, Tri-Valley then some tough rematches with Maysville and John Glenn.

We both know the coaches all shoot for their own hopes in the seedings and matchups and work towards that….it’s tougher in the super sectional but they’ll still work on it.Treyman3 wrote: Tue Jan 18, 2022 11:47 am I know normally coaches will mainly go by record in seeding voting, but I don't see how Waverly wouldn't get the #1 seed this year. Barring a couple of upsets Waverly is the 1 seed and if I’m Robertson and I got to face a team or two that didn’t vote me #1…..I’d pound them a bit more than regular.
Seeding though isn’t easy this year….hoping it sorts itself a bit more over the next 2 weeks.

Not nearly as crazy as years past.
Get back to me when you have Logan Elm, Athens, Warren, Unioto & Sheridan all saying they should be the 1. Lol

Re: Division II SE District Thread
#1 seed has 3 losses and #11 seed has 5, not the depth of strength at the top but show me a year 1-11 is that close93Bulldog wrote: Thu Jan 20, 2022 7:04 am Not nearly as crazy as years past.

Re: Division II SE District Thread
Right now, after seeing many of these teams-I see very average Basketball. Some of you might disagree but even a couple of teams that I would consider good would be average most years.
Re: Division II SE District Thread
The district is very competitive, but that typically means that most of the basketball is at an average to slightly-above-average level. I'd classify Waverly as a solid team that should win one of the two districts, but after that it's a crap shoot.
Re: Division II SE District Thread
This is how I'd seat the teams, not how I think it will go. The FAC controlling five of the 17 votes will have an effect on seeding.
1. Waverly
2. Sheridan
3. McClain
4. Gallia Academy
5. Fairfield Union
6. Logan Elm
7. Washington C.H.

Re: Division II SE District Thread
#1 seed does have 3 losses but 2 were very close games against very very good schools that most teams in the area wouldn’t think about scheduling. In a typical year they have 1 loss against a very good Minford team.Ironman92 wrote: Thu Jan 20, 2022 7:54 am#1 seed has 3 losses and #11 seed has 5, not the depth of strength at the top but show me a year 1-11 is that close93Bulldog wrote: Thu Jan 20, 2022 7:04 am Not nearly as crazy as years past.

Waverly is a little streaky but definitely come to play against top notch talent. They will be fine moving forward.
A lot of the area teams are playing very inconsistent but have talented teams.

We'd be on page 11 or 12 by now back in 2012, 2013 and 2014/2015 - and that was just the D2 Logan. lol
Re: Division II SE District Thread
How can you compare any topic now on here vs 10 years ago? I get what you are saying…..what I’m saying is crazy too but it’s different.93Bulldog wrote: Thu Jan 20, 2022 5:49 pmYou used the word crazy though.Ironman92 wrote: Thu Jan 20, 2022 7:54 am#1 seed has 3 losses and #11 seed has 5, not the depth of strength at the top but show me a year 1-11 is that close93Bulldog wrote: Thu Jan 20, 2022 7:04 am Not nearly as crazy as years past.

Re: Division II SE District Thread
If you go back & combine the sectionals a few of those years, depth is similar but with more heavy hitters at the top. Talking about an 11 seed now with 5 losses is nothing, teams are barely past the halfway mark. That could be a 10 loss team by seasons end.

That's funny because I've always wondered how McClain, Hillsboro, and those schools out near Cincinnati are in this district!McClainTigerfan wrote: Sat Jan 22, 2022 8:27 am Still always wonder how Sheridan and those schools out East are in this district!!

Re: Division II SE District Thread
Sheridan, Fairfield Union, New Lex, Crooksville, Waterford are all in SE district. Much closer than Lynchburg Clay, Eastern Brown and that whole group. Lol
Re: Division II SE District Thread
In volleyball 2 years ago Whiteoak traveled to Waterford for a sectional game……Whiteoak in Waterford was closer to Pittsburgh than they were home in Whiteoak93Bulldog wrote: Sat Jan 22, 2022 11:46 am Sheridan, Fairfield Union, New Lex, Crooksville, Waterford are all in SE district.
