I know I would’ve went there! Almost went to Oregon St to play for the Beavers!! Penn St was close too because of Beaver Stadium!!

Probably because Beaver is simply the location, Beaver isn't in the school title at all. It's called Eastern Local School when you look them up online, but most say Eastern Pike because there's 4 schools in pike county and guess what direction they're in? Also have to keep in mind the school didn't originate in Beaver, Ohio either. So while you might think something was obvious, your obvious really had zero to do with choosing a mascot.

If I’m not mistaken…
A long time ago, there was two school districts in the area. The Beaver Beavers (black and orange), and the Stockdale Bulldogs (gold and purple). When the districts merged, the board agreed there should be a new mascot and new colors. That’s when they decided to go with the (bald) Eagle and its color, brown and white. Orange is an accent color a lot of people don’t care for, because it’s a nod to Beaver. Some people would rather see a gold accent.
