Travel teams are becoming more of the norm for these kids and a lot of coaches too. With all of the issues the OHSAA has, I can see club sports taking over and people getting away from schools and the OHSAA. If someone would take the reigns I think you could already see it in volleyball. And I think there are enough kids playing travel basketball that I think you could see it there too. Especially on the girls side. Divisions would be set up based on skill set and not the size of the school. Actually a more level playing field but no school affiliation and that means no community backing.

I see a lot of girls playing travel basketball because they get playing time. They don’t play school basketball because they set the bench for 4 quarters. Travel ball has ruined school sports. If you pay the money they will put you in the game even though you can’t dribble.

I hope so but it is used as a recruiting chip. Wrestling coaches tell them hey do you want to sit the bench the whole time or do you want to go out there and make an impact and play every time.
