Re: Boys Southeast District Games/Scores
With regard to Fairfield Union....I agree that they are somewhat of an unknown to many teams in the Southeast District. That often makes it tough when trying to seed them come tournament time.
I think they are pretty solid every year. Their coach does a great job with that program year in and year out.
With the exception of playing Canal and BC I wouldn't exactly call that "battle-tested". I think there are many teams in the Southeast that could beat both of those teams on any given day. It's hard to maintain a high level of play when you play one good team then 3 bad teams, then play one more good team, 3 more bad teams, etc...It doesn't make the team better.
From a Chillicothe standpoint, we played FU for 4 straight years (04-07) when they had teams with very good records, usually better than our record. We went 3-0-1 against them and outscored them 16-6. Those results were mainly due to the fact that Chillicothe's schedule about always consists of 8-10 schools of the same caliber.
Fairfield Union usually had much more adjusting to do with regard to the overall speed of play, and the level of play.
You can't get away from strength of schedule. Canal and BC (along with Teays Valley down the road) are the only real games you can judge FU by in my opinion when looking at their potential to win the district. They had a good result with BC, not so good with Canal. A # 1 or #2 seed would help a lot since they would play their first 2 at home.
As far as the Teays Valley game helping to determine their seed, they play that game October 9th. Teays Valley is playing good soccer right now. The tourny games start October 13th. Will that game even take place before the tournament selection takes place?

According to www.seodab.org, the seeding meeting will be Oct. 5. In other words, games from the Oct. 4th and before will impact the seeding.

Bucknuts wrote:Soccernut......Medina may be a good team, but the 6-0 record and the great "goals for" and "goals against" comes from less than stellar competition.
The combined records of their 6 opponents was 9-19-7. Four of those wins were from one team. Three of their wins came from teams with one win, and one of the teams was winless. They beat one team with a winning record.
Just trying to make a point...it's really important to look at a team's competition and how they do against good squads.
I just saw where Medina was ranked #8 in the state in division two. I would say they are a good team to get that high.

Re: Boys Southeast District Games/Scores/Records
The OSSCA has Logan's record at 4-2-3, not 6-2-2. Losses to Chillicothe and Warren, ties to Groveport, Lancaster, and Jackson. Not sure if the wins are accurate.
Re: Boys Southeast District Games/Scores/Records
That cant be right that Lynchburg Clay and Peebles have only played 2 games......right?

Re: Boys Southeast District Games/Scores/Records
I noticed on OHSAA that Adena is listed in the North sectional of the SE District, but I do not see them listed above. Were tehy unseccessful in fielding a team, or have they not been reported on to know their record. Just out of curiosity.
Re: Boys Southeast District Games/Scores/Records
xb1srw2..........I do not know if Adena has a team or not. I have not seen any scores involving Adena.
Re: Boys Southeast District Games/Scores/Records
OVClocal.......That is all that I have been able to track with Lynchburg Clay and Peebles. I'm sure they have played more games. We will get an update on the records after the tournament draw.

Re: Boys Southeast District Games/Scores/Records
Chillicothe now 9-2-0 overall; 6-1 in SEOAL play.
Next: Jackson home Thursday-------Senior Night. Can wrap up a spot in the SEOAL Championship game with a win.
Athens score with a not-so-good 2-5-3 Fisher Catholic team a little surprising. Maybe I jinxed them by putting them #1 in the SE Dst a couple days ago. Wow.
