Jesco White wrote:Thanks for the stats, coop. I was kind of surprised that Crestview didn't run Minnich more. Montgomery was also a very nice back, and looked like a very nice sized kid, but I thought going in that Minnich typically carried the ball majority of the time. I know Minnich had the 60 yard TD run. Didn't he have another long run as well? I can't remember right now. I'm half asleep as I type. lol

100 of his 131 yards were on 2 TD runs of 60 and 40 yards each.

They were pulling for Crestview but they gave Valley credit from the outset. They were professional throughout and they broadcasted an excellent game...VERY EXCITING!
I talked to your cuz before the game and I was thinking during the game how proud you'd be if you could see how well they were playing!!

I was amazed at how well they played the West game. It was the only one I saw. I knew then they were a special bunch but they seem to be getting stronger. I love their mental toughness as much as their physical conditioning. I believe this is what has separated them from good teams in the past..PROUD doesn't begin to describe how I feel!! It's not AS fun but it's still fun nonetheless.

Great job Indians. Sounds like the farm boys came to play.

Good luck next week against Wynford. Should be a good game.

If the game were at Valley, it would have been more than full, we brought a HECK of a crowd, but it was half full at best. Where we were standing, TONS of bleachers left, thats a big facility. I'd like to see us play somewhere a touch smaller this week.

Not to mention support from other communities represented well. Nice to see fans from other schools support a local team.

I doubt they would let Wynford play there two weeks in a row, but you never know about the infinite wisdom of the OHSAA.

They have an awesome offense that is firing on all cylinders right now and just ran and passed all over Crestview tonight. The defense bent at times, and they did give up a couple big plays to #43 Minnich, but for the most part they held the Cougars in check the entire game. The forced some TO's and then turned those into points. Keller and Yates both looked great running the ball. My father and I really enjoyed watching the game and had a great time with the fans around us under the press box. I wish I didn't have to work next Friday or we would be making another trip north to watch the Indians again.

Good luck Valley!! Bring home that regional title.
Thanks BG77!! Crab_apple told me he ran into you tonight and got a chance to talk to you for a minute. Thanks for coming up and supporting our kids. Hopefully we can get another win next Friday so you can have another chance to see us play!!
Jesco, it was our pleasure to come and watch the Indians last night. My father and I both enjoyed the trip and the game. I was also very impressed with Valleys crowd. I'd say it was at least double what Crestview had and the people I talked to at the gate while we were waiting said it was only a little over and hour drive for them. Like I said above, I was very impressed with the play of the Indians on both sides of the ball. The offense was just a machine last night and the defense made the stops when they needed to. Minnich may have had 133 yards, but I'm pretty sure 111 of that came on the 2 TD runs of 60 and 51 yards, so for the most part they held him in check. If they continue to play like they did last night I see no reason why they can't win 3 more and bring another state title back to Scioto county. If I didn't have to work next Friday you can bet my father and I would make the trip back up to watch them again.

I looked for you and Coop before the game, but we parked in the parking lot to the south of the home stands and I didn't see you guys anywhere. Crab said you guys were by the tennis courts and I didn't even see any tennis courts. lol

Good luck next week. You can rst assured I will be listening from work and probably doing the updates if I'm not real busy.

Of course these are not official but I've been looking at keller's stats and I have him at about 1,645 rushing and 35 total TDs. I'll try to get his receiving yards up later.. Does anyone have any of Yates stats on the year?
