Just my opinion but I think last years team would handle this years team. Way more physical, they would dominate both sides of the ball at the line of scrimmage and after Last years db's layed out a couple of the this years wr's over the middle they would develope a serious case of gator arms.

Last years burg team would handle this years team easily.
No they wouldn't. Lol calpreps has this team beating last years team by 3. Last years team could beat this years team 50/50 but handle easily? Smh

We have more playmakers this year. Offensively the burg is better, a lot of people think that's not the case because we don't have guys to line up in two tights and run right at people. Defensively we are the same as last year as far as being quick to the ball, but not as physical. Cold water
Proved last year that we weren't that physical. Especially when we couldn't cover their receivers one on one. These two teams at this juncture are very close, however this years burg team creates more problems for team offensively. Waverly will give us an idea if we can handle a spread team on the defensive side.

Now if you said that burg can't go in a power set and run the ball, I would agree with you. They aren't that type of team but how did that work out for Jackson? Why do you keep saying the cold waters? If burg gets to that game, I can't understand how anyone would consider that a terrible season.

Side note saw Ashland play, Burg would win with a running clock.

Maybe they run a ton of RPO but not against Jackson they didn't. Know what RPO is then post. Burg is in a region built for them to get to that game at what point are they going to get past it?? I think everyone in the area is basically like yeah nice solid team but won't beat Coldwater. Teams want championships or at least be competitive in the big game so far Burg has done neither. Basically I've discredited anything you've said and you now just have to rely on repeating information, good luck buddy. Worked out fine for Jackson they moved the ball then kept getting a penalty don't worry come playoff time those teams won't help you out like that. So you're saying playing Ashland or Raceland isn't nearly as productive as coming up and taking on Oak Hill or Fairland??? Valley has gone over and played Raceland and Fleming County last couple years good close games when Valley had quality teams.

Burg picking up Raceland to improve their schedule or Ashland ? Sorry Im not buying that , and I LOVE me some Rams . But most years , including this one where Raceland has one of their best teams Burgs rolls them without too much trouble. I just dont see that move to those Ky programs as a big enough challenge for the Pirates .

So playing teams like Fairland and Oak Hill has more benefit to it then playing 2 teams that have produced quality teams last few years. Sorry guys not buying that at all. Now if the rumors are true about who they're picking up next year hats off to them games is love to catch like seeing quality teams in the area.

That's the beauty of the outside perspective I have no agenda and simply looking at it from a totally unbiased opinion. Which that's all it is. So sorry absolutely no jealousy towards burg could care less about them, I cheer them on at playoff time like I do all area schools. You guys are close to the program and think it does NO wrong and any person with an opinion other then yours you guys think is so wrong or jealous. You simply don't accept criticism well at all. Noticed that over the years from the Burg faithful not all but quite a bit of you simply can't look at it objectively. Like when ppl sit in the stands and boo a bad call against their team the person with no ties sees it was the right call. Its no biggie you guys are just to close to the subject matter. The amount of replies I've got to a simple analyze of a team only game I've seen them play in proves exactly what I'm talking about.

If you go man for man on both sides of the ball I really think if you do it honestly your going to take 7-8 guys from last years team on both sides of the ball. Your only taking maybe 2-3 positions on D and O from this years team
Please no one get into naming names

jackson ran the ball on wheelersburg this year . 5-6 yards a play . Had burg on their heels several times. Jackson played hard but they are not a great Jackson Ironmen team. Jackson lost almost everyone from last years team minus a few players . Last years Burg team could run it down your throat . That's the difference in my opinion
2015 over 2016

Saw on Twitter that Burg JV beat Jackson JV by 3-4 TD's.

The train keeps on rolling.

If I remember correctly, Ironton had this same problem back in their hey day. They couldn't find anyone to play them so they started traveling hundreds of miles to play teams. Most school can't budget that into the system anymore and not only that you lose a lot of your fan base on the long distance games because people either can't afford to go or don't get off of work in time to travel the distance. I do agree Burg does need to bolster their schedule though.

I believe the Falcons of Clinton-Massie from Clarksville, Ohio (D4) near Hillsboro are looking for a week 2 game. Massie is a Southern Ohio powerhouse and is usually right there playing for a state championshion year in and year out. This would be a good opportunity to pick up a great program and drop Fairland.
I think we have already filled both open dates. I know we picked up bishop watterson next yr and I've heard we picked up dayton chaminade julienne
Dogg: Nope, I've been informed by a very creditable source that the only game that has been replaced is Cincy NCH for Bishop Watterson. Fairland still remains for week 2 and Clinton Massie of Clarkville, Ohio is still looking for a date. Clinton-Massie is D4 and has won recent multiple state championships in 2012 and 2013. Massie is the "Gold Standard" of rural small school football in southern Ohio, and if we want to play with the likes of Coldwater in the finals we should get some local experience first.

I just went 85 yards straight thru the heart of the south- Ezekiel Elliott 1/1/15

Hey Goose you are a joke.... To be a great Team you adapt to what talent you have and play to those strengths , you make less mistakes than your opponents and you win games... Final score of this Jackson Game 38 to 13 Burg!!!! enough said... I hope this Team get a chance at Coldwater again, I promise that he will be a closer game than last year, just like when we played Hartley 2013 , they ran over us, then we played again 2014 and it went to overtime. It helps to play a team once, and great coaches prepare .....

LOL, you're about 2 weeks to late. Heck I had to go back and read other post just to figure out what you were trying to say. Poor guy, dude seriously if you are going to bring something to a conversation please don't wait 2 weeks to think up a thought on it and then post. I promise if they play Coldwater again it will be a closer game also, one individual from the area posted he thought Coldwater wasn't as strong as last years team. Besides after last years game really there's only way one to go as far as margin of defeat goes but I'm hoping they win it you hope for the closer game. I do hope they go and they win it all. Just so you're kept in the loop and not living in the past, I mean 2013 and 2014 game mentions, LOL. Burg has since gone on to beat Oak Hill 42-0 and are now by the time you read this getting ready to take on Waverly later today. Then again if it's like your last post it's probably week 1 of the playoffs. LOL hilarious. Man you made my night.

P.S--You do realize what you are saying when you say helps to play a team once and great coaches prepare?? If they're a great coach they don't need to play a team in order to prepare, what do you think happens in the playoffs?? Play same teams every year? you just said coaches adapt to the talent so even if you play the same team possibly not the same scheme. So if you take on a new opponent are you going to struggle but the following year be better then?? Teams don't have time for that it's not a franchise, kids come they go, attrition happens team types change.
