The top QB (statistically) in the league, its top 3 runningbacks, its top WR ... Nelsonville-York returned one star RB last year and it was crowned the champ before a game was played; the BUlldogs return ALL THEIR STARS on offense and everyone wants to hand them 2nd place ... They did go (9-1) last year (the only team in the Ohio to do so) and outscored their opponents by a wide margin (besides NY) ... So to think they can't repeat that feat with all of their skilled players returning would be somewhat unwise. IMO

Well the team that will finish first hardly lost anyone. Nelsonville-York started a bunch of 10th graders and went 8-2 and beat Athens! Sure Ny lost Derek but if I recall, Derek had 10 other kids on the field with him last year.

Make no mistake, We will not lose to Alexander! We will run the table in the TVC-Ohio!!!

I personally don't care if any team wins the TVC 10 years in a row by running the table. All I want to see is someone, anyone (yes, even Miller) in the TVC one of these days step up and "WIN A PLAYOFF GAME".

Trimble won one 2 years ago!

Ny will make a deep run here real soon!

Good point about the playoff thing ... I for one become a HUGE TVC supporter once the regular season is over ... Sure I rip NY a little and offer up a little constructive critisism toward the VC folks ... But believe or not, they are all my 2nd favorite teams once league play is wrapped up ... On that note - good luck to all the TVC teams weeks 1-4 AND week 11 and beyond.

Just have to add my two cents. Since a few have commented on the greatest running back in TVC history, this is my opinion.

I have seen all the great backs who have played in the TVC over the last 44 years and I have been here from the beginning. There was one great runner from Miller, Clifton Cox, that I never had the pleasure of watching.

I am familiar with the career stats put down by Justin Roush and I certainly think he was a truly outstanding running back for Meigs. However, I firmly believe that the best running back to ever perform in the TVC has to be Justin Gail. He was such a fluid natural runner with plenty of speed to go all the way at any time.

I'm sure many will not agree with that opinion, but it is my opinion and I will stick with it.

I still say Brad Woodson was the best runningback in Nelsonville history.

fasteach, Like I have said before it is impossible to say that one back was best. There have been alot of good backs come through this league . I think Justin Roush was as good as any of them . He had a good combination of speed and power. He was fun to watch both at Meigs and Ohio U.

O&B , I think everyone knows that Nelsonville is York and plays in Buchtel. :122249

boiler, i would hope every school has produced at least 1 or 2 really great players that they can show as examples to the kids following. the local fans should support these kids who clearly showed community spirit. i was not saying he was the best, just the best from here. opinions are just that. did not know panties would get so twisted by some others, not yours boilermaker!

This.

When he played at NY, NY was the type of team that beat a good Logan team and blew out a 7 or 8 win Jackson team in Jackson.

When holding would be called against NY, NY fans would comment that it was "just more yards for Gail to gain."

He sat out a lot of 4th quarters and still put up great numbers. He just didn't have the interest in eating, sleeping, and breathing football in college.

Actually I do believe that technically the high school is located in Nelsonville corporation! I looked up to both the Gail boys and due to a lot of circumstances it was a shame they didn't both play at the DI level. Gail actually was 2nd in the state to Charles Woodson in rushing that season and lost a lot of yards due to how many punt returns he had for TD's.
