It's $2. BIG DEAL. Just think your getting into the game for $5, just act like you paid $7 to get in the game. You could go up there and pay to park and watch 2 games and pay $12. Not to many places can you go and pay $12 to have a good night.

For $10 this past year at the Ironton Classic, people got to see 4 games, one of those being OakHill Academy vs.Cincy Princeton.Along with a bus taking people to B-Dubs and back every 45 minutes.
Just sayin. 8)

I was there, but you don't see that kind of deal that often. Jus lay off the $2 parking fee.....

This $2 to park thread is getting old. lol. If you cant afford that for a good night of OHIO basketball maybe you should be working a second job as a walmart greeter to pay to keep the electric on! Not trying to be smart but let it go peeps. Anyway, Jackson is over and its on to the convo now. More good hoops and parking is free!

I have been going to the convo for 30 years and parking is free if you feel like walking a little bit, but since I got the job as a greeter I elect to pay 5 smackaroos to park under the convo or in one of the lots close to the convo.......if you want to get there a little early, like 3 hours before the doors open you can park for free in any of the lots close to the convo.......

and they do have some cute little ladies from OU taking your money which eases the pain a little....... :)

Paying 2 bucks to park I can handle. 4 Lawrence County teams traveling an hour to play a game I can not. We all could have played at Rock Hill and saved each school tons of money. There would have been a bigger gate, less gas expenses, bus driver pay and the fact that at least 2 schools put their students and fans lives in danger driving back on 93 on a snow covered road!!!! That last part is the dumbest !!!!! OHSAA has got it all screwed up!

I know where that $2 is going. I just heard the Supt just bought a new house in town. He is getting married. He is using that parking money to pay for his honeymoon and the down payment on his new house.

The $2.00 fee should not be allowed. It makes Jackson look silly when other area schools that are holding sectional tourn. games do not IMHO. I understand the athletic departments budget may be a little low, but everybody else shouldn't have to donate to that cause. Id rather donate my 2.00 to my home school?

Then walk up the hill. Parking is free at the bottom.

Great tournament, great games, great hospitality room! I hope the great games continue at the Convo!!!!!

The $2 really isn't that big of a deal. Either you want to watch the game or you don't

Have the buffet at Cardo's Pizza, leave your car their and walk the three blocks up the hill...by the time you get thru the door you will have saved your 2 bucks and you will be hungry again so you can have a hot dog and some popcorn!

If I was from Jackson and didn't want to pay two dollars to park, I would ask them what is more important, passing levies or two bucks for parking?

charge,
real nice petty threat. i hope you are kidding? the person collecting the money could care less what you have to say. if you have a complaint why not call the administration office and voice your complaint. i know your levy threat will scare the heck out of them. also, if paying two dollars to park would influence your stance on a levy you have some major issues.

Hey Charge, how about "pay to play" or not? People in Jackson buy a parking pass. Quit whinning. What do you say to the OU folks who take your $5.00, "$5 or going to Bobcats games"? Go to an Ohio State game and pay $10 to $20 to park.

MERCY!! - If charging a "parking fee" is absolutely unreasonable, how about the "food fees"?
Are you going to demand "free food" in addition to "free parking"?
NEWSFLASH - providing facilities and services costs money - which for a public school comes from either tax revenue [passed by voters] or from "charging" for specific things/amenities [mostly provided by volunteers] at services/events. Think how much money it would save if schools were not required to build and maintain stadiums and gyms- how about we just cancel all of that ridiculously expensive, extraneous, non-academic, stuff - esp music and art?
The purpose of publicly funded EDUCATION, is "academic education", right, not sports?
So if you want your school to have sports teams, facilities, and equipment, then those programs have to be funded - right? My guess is that all of you who so strenouosly object to paying even a minimal fee for parking at any other school's games [tournament or otherwise] are the same people who proudly vote against the school levies needed to support your own school district.

How many away games did you go to at other high schools and pay to park? Parents at other schools have to pay for their kids to play, why should they have to pay for yours and you get a free ride? If you can't afford to drive a Cadillac, then don't buy one and expect the people driving Rangers to pay for it.
