Clearly he has had his run. When you don't achieve post-season success after regular season success, something has to give. A different voice in the clubroom is clearly needed here. Also, a new batting coach is a screaming need. Wish they could get Gardenhire away from Minnesota. He deserves a better talent level to manage.

According to The Cincinnati Enquirer, Dusty was let go because he wouldn't consider firing the hitting coach. Also, it was believed he had lost his authority over the team because they collapsed in the last week and never made it out of the first round of the playoffs. It is believed the pitching coach might seriuosly be considered.

I believe dusty lost the locker room and that did him in.
I could tell in the few games I got to watch the last month of the season that he had lost the players
....

So do you guys think they need to look at a young up and comer type skipper or find a proven manager with a lot of experience.

Heard Paul O'neil is interested and the Reds want to talk to him but he has NO experience!!! LaRussa"s name keeps coming up and Barry Larkin says he's interested but the Reds haven't contacted him yet!!!!
