Playoffs #8 Ironton @ #1 Wheelersburg
Re: 11/07 week11 ironton 6-4 @ burg 10-0
Week one was just that. From the beginning to the end it was a game full of penalties and turnovers for the Tigers who seems to have figured out how to keep both to a minimal as of late. As far as the to who was in better shape, watching the original matchup, outside of the12 yard score following the turnover, I felt the teams were both physically fit. Other than the turnovers and penalties the win could have gone both ways.
Re: 11/07 week11 ironton 6-4 @ burg 10-0
Ironton with a healthy #22 can make it a game. Ironton without a game breaker is a slaughter.
You can run on Wheelersburg if you can show the threat of speed to outside. If they don't respect that and are able to tee off and bring the pressure your in trouble.

One can only keep them honest with the pass. No one has been able to run outside on them yet. They are too fast for that.Westfan wrote:Ironton with a healthy #22 can make it a game. Ironton without a game breaker is a slaughter.

This should be an easy Ironton win after you inform the coaches about that one burg weakness you've been posting about since week 1.cg-ironton fan wrote:P(irate) wrote:Against Jackson he was 5-7 for 62yds*cg-ironton fan wrote:how much has the burg QB improved since game 1 ?

Re: 11/06 week11 ironton 6-4 @ burg 10-0
I don't see it as a blow out win.
Maybe I am wrong but it is still young men playing a game.
I hope for a Ironton win and a safe game for both teams.
Ironton may lose and if they do it will be to a better team they did what was needed to win.
All I want is both teams to come out injury free and may the winner go far and represent Southeast Ohio proudly.

Why can't anyone answer this question?P(irate) wrote:OK. I'm really asking a serious question here>>> How can Ironton beat Burg? I'm really just wondering what Ironton can do at this point in the season for you all to believe it's possible. Because for me and most other people in our area, don't think it will be much different from the last 3 games.

Well obviously sir, you asked the wrong question. The obvious question to illicit a response from posters who support Ironton should be worded as follows...." How can ironton beat burg back in 1894? " try asking it in that manner and I'm confident you will receive some wonderful, enlightening and obviously useless information.

Cpt. Obvious wrote:It is obvious that there isn't any ironton posters who live in reality or actually have some legitimate reason why they believe that ironton will be able to compete in this game. All I've read is " well we were close in week one " and " were ahead overall series " or " back when I played " etc..... Ironton is in trouble, that is obvious. Heck! Their #1 fan doesn't even live in ironton and never goes to their games!! Obviously that is a huge problem. Your welcome
I'm glad you all are having fun at the expense of my health problems. so let me tell you what they are. I have had 14 surgeries. I tore my knee out as a sophomore at ironton, and I never played again. I went blind in my early 20's from a cornea disease called keratoconus.i have had 3 cornea transplants, and had my eyesight restored and have to wear hard contacts to see. I'm legally blind in the state of ohio without my contacts. which is why I can't make long trips at night alone. I've had 7 knee surgeries.had 3 torn acl's.i have a steel knee that's almost 16 in my left knee. and my right knee is bone on bone and I have to have it replaced after the 1st of the year. in 1984 I had a 22 pound packing mortar block fall 77 feet and hit the top of my hardhat at Armco steel in 1984.it broke my back and very nearly my neck. and my life has been severly altered by health problems. I'm ate up with a very severe aggressive arthritis, and after 30 years of taking n-saids, it affected my kidney, so I can't take anything for arthritis.so to my fellow tiger fans and anybody else questioning my loyalty to the team. but mostly the creepers that think it's funny to have fun at someone else's misfortunes. I will pray for you. but if you want to be like captain obvious, at least let me tell you what your making fun of. and I have not lived in ironton since I was 19. I lived at kitts hill for 32 years in the rock hill district. and have lived in waverly for 5 years on lake white. so if my wife works I can't come to games alone.but all this has nothing to do with the game and that's OBVIOUS CAP'N. so have your fun, I'm the bigger person.i can barely walk right now. tiger games are not a huge priority now. I go when I can.

I really hope that the fighting tigers can come in as an underdog and knock off wheelersburg. I'd be happier that a flathead catfish in a washtub full of Vaseline.

If Ironton can't play any better against Burg than they did against South Point. They are in for a beating!
Re: 11/06 week11 ironton 6-4 @ burg 10-0
Be patient with the Ironton posters. The OVC football championship is the first football championship they have won in the 2000's. They have not fared well in the playoffs for the first 15 years of 2000's and got their collective helmets handed to them in the SEOAL. Let them enjoy their victory until kick off Friday. I am confident the Burg will show them the door.
