2019 Cincinnati Reds
Re: 2019 Cincinnati Reds
52 games left for the Reds. Cincy is 52-58 .473 pct. 7.5 games behind the first place Cubbies, but 4.5 games up on the last place Pirates. I think at this point in the season, a .500 season would be quite an accomplishment.

That first inning was great for the Reds! Castillo pitched a great game. He had two pitches that weren't.
The game tomorrow is a must win I feel like. They need a sweep of the Angels.

Re: 2019 Cincinnati Reds
Pick up a nice 2-game sweep over the Angels. That means the Reds have won 4 of their last 5 series, and the one they didn't win, they split 2-2 with the Braves. Playing much better right now.

Re: 2019 Cincinnati Reds
I have a feeling the reds are fittin to make a big move on assaulting the Chicago cubs on the 8th -11th. and make a huge statement towards moving farther up in their division.

Re: 2019 Cincinnati Reds
The Reds were for all practical purposes were eliminated from playoff contention as of April 7th with their 1-8 start. Still their ebbs and flows have kept us interested throughout the season. Question for those on the thread: when the roster expands should Cincy audition and play the youngsters or go with the current cast to try and reach 81 wins.

Re: 2019 Cincinnati Reds
Good question. They have given the youngsters a lot of chances this year (i.e. Senzel [who is here to stay], Aquino, VanMeter, etc.). I'd like to see some of the younger guys get a chance, but only if they've earned it. I think finishing the year at .500 could give them a lot of confidence for next year.Omega wrote: Fri Aug 09, 2019 8:09 pm The Reds were for all practical purposes were eliminated from playoff contention as of April 7th with their 1-8 start.
