Re: Minford Football 2024
2 scores to 0 Piketon.. well from what I saw Piketon posters are acting like they are contenders in the SVC and appear to expect to be good, so maybe this isn't as bad a showing for Minford as people think.
Re: Minford Football 2024
Nah, there was multiple times where they blew the whistle dead just as the Piketon QB connected on some big pass plays but they weren't hitting the QB so it was blown early. This probably should've been worse but then again it's a scrimmage and nothing to read off of it but Minford had very little offense and Piketon's defense isn't great.

Back in my day that would be called a sack…greygoose wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2024 10:32 pmNah, there was multiple times where they blew the whistle dead just as the Piketon QB connected on some big pass plays but they weren't hitting the QB so it was blown early. Watching the Piketon scrimmage I saw a lot of good things and of course bad things. But the thing that stood out to me the most was the effort the kids were showing on every play. They were flying around getting to the ball! They are going to take the lumps that's for sure, as all very young teams would. Just get better everyday and make progress and stay together and this could be very good group in a few years. Also I just want to say that those 4 seniors who stayed and committed to the program when they could have quit like the others have my utmost respect as well as the underclassmen and freshman stepping up to play on friday nights! Keep working fellas! Could not be more proud of these players and team!

Great to hear that Minford is playing hard. Success for Minford this year not going to be measured by wins and losses. If they can get through the year healthy and being competitive, they laying a solid foundation for the future of the program. And as others have said, big props to the 4 seniors who are sticking it out.SOC_Fan08 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 16, 2024 9:01 am Watching the Piketon scrimmage I saw a lot of good things and of course bad things. The situation sort of like where Valley football was at last season. Things started out rough for Valley, but they got better as season went on and now look much improved heading into this season. Best of luck to the Minford players and coaches.*
