Good luck to both teams from Lancerland!
NY will most likely win, but I would love to see the Bulldogs take this one!
Have a good game and I hope for little to no injuries!

If you are counting on crowd noise you better hope the NY crowd is boisterous. Because Athens probably wont bring more than 50 people to the game. Notorious for small crowds the bulldogs are. That is a shame for the kids on the field too. I wont be at the game, as I am going to go watch another in-county match-up. But I say NY wins this one in closer than you migth think fashion.

If N-Y brings their best effort, Athens is in for a long night.

Glad the fans are confident from NY. This will be a good game, Athens is not as bad as their record shows. They have a solid running game and the qb is doing a good job with the team. NY needs to give it their maximum effort to get the win. If NY plays to their potential they will win. If they take a quarter off ,Athens will be right there with them. Take care of business Buckeyes! 4 quarters for the championship!!!! Go Buckeyes!

NY BUX-
I agree with you, the Buckeyes were definately flat last night (they still put up 40 points but they will need more emotional intensity against the Bulldogs)
Yeah but I have a new team to root for since our kids are at Dublin Scioto these days!! But Alex is done for the year after his 3rd concussion in 4 weeks. Its on to 2009 but I will continue to root for the Chiefs and all the area teams we used to cover in Athens County.

Re: WK 8 Athens @ Nelsonville-York
I really think that Athens has improved a lot since the beginning of the season.
Tope runs hard (as always) and the QB Harris is really playing well. He has done a great job spreading the ball around, getting a lot of different receivers involved in the offense. That can be much harder to defend than a team that has just one "stud" receiver.
I really think the Bulldog offense has come into its own, and that is why you have been seeing an increase in scoring the last several weeks......
The Buckeyes need to bring it............. All 4 quarters
