Re: Green Bobcats
I agree with you bilco2, there is some kids out of position IMO. such as the Bruce boy being Qb.
Re: Green Bobcats
I don't think they have a qb, tj MCcould would make a good one but having the time to work with him, is difficult. he was a good qb in grade school. other than that they are hurting because the blanton boy is the other option, and he is just a freshman. the coach knew of this last year and didn't prepare for it.

Re: Green Bobcats
So Bilco2; I stand by my comment in saying that you've most likely never coached or played, because sometimes you fill positions based on needs. So instead of getting on here and being negitive, have you asked the coach to help. Maybe be a position coach? Green will be fine this year, and they have made great strides the past couple years under the current coach and I believe many if not most of the players really believe in him. If I'm correct, if not for him and a core group of young men at Green you might be attending other schools games on football Fridays. Try to be positive and I think you'll find the Bobcats will get better each game. By getting on here and downing the coach, you'r just hurting the team.

Dan Mercer is a good man who really cares about kids
he's the kind of man you want to coach your kids.

Re: Green Bobcats
Yes Dan is great with the kids but having a scrimmage the week before your actual games was not smart to me.
The reason I think this is because your top two or possible three players got hurt which could really hurt you.

Re: Green Bobcats
your right bobcat, but there's no way to for see something like that. he could be in real trouble now, the moore boy is not only his bread and butter man, he was the leader of this team. these other kids really need to step up and pull as one, if they don't they will hurting.
Re: Green Bobcats
most teams scrimmaged this past Friday night or
Saturday morning or night a week before their first
game. Who were the players hurt ?

I didnt even know about caleb. Well i sure wish they would put tj in as QB now just let him show you what he's got i bet he would surprise them.

Re: Green Bobcats
Sorry to hear about Billy he is a hard nosed kid and a good football player, he will be missed in Green's lineup. As far as the 3 scrimmages if you need the work its better to work againest someone else than do intersquads. Good Luck to the Bobcats in their first game Friday and the rest of the year.
Re: Green Bobcats
Just curious, but what is the strength and conditioning program like for the bobcats? What kind off offense do they run?
