This game almost always ends up being a dog fight and tonight was no different. Minford jumped out to a nice lead (20-0) but too many penalties, a turnover, and a blown coverage put the momentum in Wellston's favor and the ballgame was tied at 20 going into halftime.

Minford had a great game on the ground with around 300 yards rushing. The penalties have to stop and the pass defense needs to improve and tighten up.

Minford finished strong by driving the ball down the field to score the go ahead TD and then stopped Wellston on a huge 4th down. Minford made some halftime adjustments on defense and the result was a strong 2nd half on defense.

Congrats to Minford on the win and good luck to Wellston on the rest of your season.

West is lucky to be 1-1 after facing 2 not so superior teams.

All of this after some of the Siders talked about how dominating they were going to be.
