 Don't remeber anyone from minford saying that they are a powerhouse. Where do some of you people come up with this stuff? Some valley fans are really annoying, who cares what happend in the 90's why bring it up? Valley was the better program at that time is that what you want minford fans to say? Minford has been the better program recently and I don't see that changing. Like someone else said earlier why bring up years that most of these kids weren't even alive or was in diapers? Also, like valley is the only team that has something going on mentaly against burg. Minford has beat burg what 5 times now? Can't use that as a excuse they are just a better team this year then valley. Oh and minford is alot better this year then last year as well :122245

I heard New Boston was good in their time! Does that mean that they would play with us this year? LOL

WHO CARES! All that matters is this Friday night. And it doesnt hurt to have the last 3 wins of this series under our belt either!

I am sick of hearing "we almost beat you last year...." and the point is? A win is a win. Bottom line is I dont care if we win Friday by 1 pt, we WILL win. Minford is much more balanced than last year and I dont see anyone this week stopping the Falcon run.

I see a 10-14 point game. Could be worse if Valley cannot stop the run like I am hearing from the people at the Burg game. If that is the case, look for it go get ugly.

It is also funny how they always throw scores from this season into the mix. If that's the case then it should be a good game since, the Minford offense is no good, because they only put up 14 points against a struggling Waverly team. And they only beat Waverly by 7 points man u you folks at Minford must have one heck of an offense. Powerhouse teams get better as the season goes on, and Minford on the other hand they usually get worse as the season goes on. This a reflection on the Coaching Staff at Minford. Minford is never going to be a powerhouse because they do not like holding on to good coaches, as they got rid of Coach Ashley who was the best coach Minford has had in the past 15 years.

Many things cannot be guaranteed in life, but I can absolutely guarantee that I know much more about football and about coaching than you do. I would be willing to bet my yearly salary on it, if it wasn't so much more than yours.

I would jump on either bet, especially salary!

Previous seasons are always talked about on this site... You guys don't get to pick when the past is relevant. Minford is a good team and should be favored Friday night. But you can't read this darn site and comment on a game if you don't praise that which is Minford football. Read the crap that has been written this season and last about Minford and Valley. It's talk of Minford's domination and how Valley can't play with Minford, and the babble about SOC II and Valley not having a chance. Well, here we are in week 10 and Valley has a chance to win the SOC even in a year where not much was expected. You have a good football team and you should be proud. But the same thing was said last year and the game was decided late in the 4th quarter. Valley is hamstrung on defense with the loss of Crabtree, but this team has a lot to play for on Friday and I expect them to give Minford a game. And by God, congrats on the playoff appearances.

If you want to get in a pissing contest, lets pull it out. I have coached, will coach again. Not HS football either. #2 I hope you make some bank if you are going to level me on salary. I own 2 businesses and never bragged a day in my life about money. I have not had it and had it. I like having it more. I have worked hard for everything I have and its mine not the banks. So think hard before you decide if you want to pick that fight. I hope you have alot more than me and maybe you can buy the game for Valley cause thats the only way I see them winning!

Not a pissing contest, eh?

I am not the one that started talking about salaries.

And I did pick Valley to finish 2nd preseason, right behind Minford. Just saying. Valley has had a good run this year and they will probably be really good next year. But you will find out who the better team is very soon.

We aren't picking when the past games are relevant. Just explain how valley winning in the 90's has anything to do with now? Minford has a different coaching staff, and new attitude.

You guys are right... Past years do not carry much water.

And I have never said that the 90's meant any thing with this game... It has to do with the overall attitude and comments that have been made this season and in years past. I'm not doubting what Minford brings to the table, and they look to be better than Valley. The point about last season and years past is Minford has had to battle in week 10. They do have 2 or 3 blow out wins over the Indians in their 5 victories, but this is has been a very good series of games the last 9 seasons and I expect it to be once again.

As for the pissing contest... you're right, you didn't start it but your response wasn't any better.

Listen, I've watched the Falcons and I know they are a darn good football team... I also know that they aren't so much better than Valley that this game will be over at halftime. If Valley doesn't turn the ball over on Friday night, this game will come down to the 4th quarter.

No, it's not the facts... We don't know who he is, what he does, or how much he makes. This is also a msg board and even though I'm sure you're telling the truth, there is always room to smudge a story. But honestly, I don't care and neither should you.

Good Luck on Friday

Who are you the message board police? These comments have nothing to do with you!

Good luck to your Indians on Friday as well.

I think what he's saying is he doesn't understand Minford's attitude of we dominate Valley because in this rivalry it's clearly not the case.

I think that history is very relevant when you are talking about a rivalry. History tells us this should be a hard fought close game.

Will it be? Hopefully. I want the Indians to come out on top as a former player but if they don't I hope for a good game and wish Minford luck if they make the playoffs.

I love getting people all fired up early in the week before a game. Lol, I think I accomplished this.
Minford does have a good team and the Slone kid in my opinion has looked better than the Pendleton kid from West, and I know Slone has a better line, but still a good looking running back. They have a good sized QB whose running game has improved over the years. Unfortunately, I think Valley will miss the Crabtree kid at LB this week, just because a good LB core can halt the Minford offense. Minford's line play will take you to the ball the whole game, really a simple offense. I think this is Minford's biggest problem especially if they get into the playoffs. Minford just does not have the talent, like Ironton, to have a simple offense that let's opposing teams know what's coming at them. They are a good looking team. I just hate getting on here and everyone just running Valley into the ground. Sure, they only played one half and got beat by Wheelersburg, and we know Minford beat them. You cannot go by scores or who a team has or has not beat in HS football.
And to Bleeding Red, its all in good fun. And about coaching, the Minford's coaching staff has cost themselves one game already this year. It is totally on the coaches to make sure a player doesn't play if he is not eligible to, and as a former coach you should agree that if the player was not eligible then he should not even have dressed for the game. And yes, I do think Coach Ashley was a better coach at Minford. The guy knows his football. The people at Minford never gave him a chance, because they were sore that Coach Daniels did not get the job then.

You are wrong on the player who was ineligble it was not the coaches fault it was the ad's fault and if you don't beleive me you can call him up and he will admit it to you. He has already said it was his fault. You are right coach ashley is a good coach and he knows football, but just was not a good fit for minford. Coach Daniels gets far more out of his players then Coach Ashley ever did. Im not bashing Coach Ashley at all I think he would be a very good Coach somewhere just not at minford. Just look at his body of work compared to coach daniels. Daniels is looking at a 3rd straight playoff apperance and a shot at a outright soc title. Ashleys best year came in 2003 and very few people will disagree with me that team had more talent then any of coach Daniels teams so far.

I would take any one of these two coaches over Crabtree. At least they know how and can beat the burg.

You hit the nail in the head with your post.

IF Daniels and Ashley had exactly the same amount of coaching ability, Daniels would still be the better fit because he is a Minford person and that makes all the difference in the world. Hometown pride!

I also believe that Daniels is a much better overall coach. He is much more involved, he has a better overall coaching staff (which is a credit to himself), the playcalling (schemes and preparation) are much better and he and his coaching staff utilize the talent they have to work with much better. To me its a no brainer and it sounds like Coach Ashely and I SMELL GOOD might be kinda tight! This is not a knock to Ashley....he had plenty of chance at the helm.....Daniels is just that much better. The only regret the schoolboard should have is not hiring Daniels earlier......

I was also surprised that Ashley stayed around minford. That shows what kind of person he really is. It takes alot to stay in the school system and teach at the place that you lost your job at, not many people could/would do that and still be at the games supporting the falcons. I'm not sure if he is even interested in coaching again but I'm sure he would make a fine coach for someone.

Ashley didn't lose his job, he stepped down. From what I heard it was to work on his MA degree and he and his wife just had a baby that he wanted to spend tiime with. Same reason you had all these basketball coaches stepping down last year. Family or higher degree work.
