Whiteoak is 6-5 with including wins over Manchester, Fairfield, Lynchburg Clay and losses to HIllsboro by 3, Eastern Brown and Peebles among others
How was the game? Was it closer than the 8 point margin? Fayetteville played well against Peebles last week.
Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio Week #6
Valley beat West last night and improved to 6-1. The Indians have not been playing really well this season but are finding ways to win and I guess that is all that matters to this point. They have a tough road ahead, their next 3 games are against Oak Hill, South Webster and Waverly. We will see where they stand after next weekend.
Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio Week #6
Reedsville Eastern has Southern tomorrow night and Parkersburg Catholic on Saturday night
Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio Week #6
... good road win for the Braves - Ham Twp was one of those possible "bump in the road" games ... LE survives in fine fashion "no worries" ...

... the Pfloyd Tour 2009-2010 didn't have far to travel as I made the trek down Rt. 33 to Logan High School's Jim's Gym to get my first look see at trojandave's Portsmouth Trojans ... PHS welcomed back to the court both Dion McKinley and Tory Horne - both making their 2009-10 debut for the Trojans ... as fate would have it BOTH played major roles in seeing that PHS swept the Purple in both the JV contest (PHS 50 LHS 47 with McKinley playing 2 quarters to lead the jv Trojans to victory come from behind fashion) while Tory Horne put the Portsmouth Varsity on his shoulders knocking down 15 points in the 4th period including 9/9 from the free throw line to seal the deal ... Portsmouth 88 Logan 78 a final ...
... Portsmouth Napkin Stats ...
Scoring ... Forrest Johnson 22, Wayne Evans 19, Tory Horne 19, Tre Underwood 17, London Malone 6, Ratcliff 2, McKinley 1, Patrick Underwood 2 ...
3 Pointers ... 7/16 ... Forrest Johnson 4/Wayne Evans 3 ...
FTs ... 19/23 ... outstanding from the line , PHS went 17/19 during crunch time in the 4th quarter ... led by Horne's 9 for 9 down the stretch ... Tory Horne wanted the ball in the 4th , took charge emerging as THE man in the 4th ...
TOs ... 15 ... great number as Logan pressured the ball full court the entire game ...
... Portsmouth IS the real deal ... the addition of McKinley and Tory Horne to the already talented group of Johnson, Evans, Underwood times 2, and Malone give the Trojans one of the most talented groups at both ends of the floor that I have seen this season ... the addition of McKinley will add MORE 6-5 size & board strength while Tory Horne brings one of the most talented players in the league out on the floor providing leadership, points, and defense - the complete package ... imo the BIGGEST improvement for the Portsmouth ball club this season is the addition court side of Coach Gene Collins - I know he was the assistant coach last season which I'm sure is a major advantage in taking over this season as the head man BUT the difference in the all around disciplined play of PHS is evident, WHO is in control of what is happening ON THE COURT is evident, Coach Collins has brought a disciplined, structured offensive attack to the Trojans ... the athletic abilities of the players is showcased under the reigns of control ... I am impressed with where Coach Collins is taking the PHS "program" ... it was a pleasure to meet you with the introduction by trojandave prior to the game ...
... Logan Napkin Stats ...
Scoring ... Patrick Angle 29, Mason Mays 21, Jeff Dietz 9, TJ Colegrove 9, Jordan Rutter 5, Jared Rutter 3, Kyle Guess 2
3-Pointers ... 4/17 ... TJ Colegrove 3, Jordan Rutter 1 ...
FT's ... 16/27
TOs ... 18
... Logan falls to 2-6 on the season ... Marietta comes calling Saturday evening to Jim's Gym ...
Portsmouth gets its' first win ever versus Logan in either football or basketball on Purple soil since PHS joined the SEOAL - the "curse" has been broken ... enjoyed chatting with trojandave, the "Man Row" contingent of biggdowgg, Ozzie, Tobias and friends at the game tonight ... Portsmouth not only swept the games on the court the Trojan fans making the trip out cheered the LHS contingency , about 30 fans made the trip from P'town (about 5 times as many as saw PHS play in Logan last season) ... Tobias incharge of the Tour Bus got out the PHS fan base - great job ... trojandave picked up a warning from one of Logan's finest at the 1:49 mark of the 4th quarter - obviously the Logan Police Department was put on high alert with td in the stands tonight - he is now registered as a PHS "extremist" and will be put on the updated "no fly" lists all over Southern/Southeastern Ohio for the remainder of the season LOL ...

Caleb Southworth is lost for the season. If Piketon makes it to districts he may be able to play again then
