Dunk is only worth 2 points boys. We need a low post defender first off. And if he can score, that just a plus also. We are deep this year, but lacking that "banger" inside.

If the young man is 6-4 and 215...that would lend one to believe he is capable of holding his own - The Chef is keeping the fingers crossed.

Caught a glimpse at the football game, I'd say every bit of 6'4 215....and told he is a bull around the basket. I also seen Keenan Brush...looks like he grew an inch and gain some muscle....any word coach on open gym?

I have to say that Keenan has been working. He played well in the shootouts this summer, and has been performing in open gym against the older guys. Look for Piketon to be tough and hard to stop with a lot of options. BUT, if we run into a team somewhere with a straight up, back to the basket post player, we will be in trouble because we have no one to defend them. So hopefully this exchange student can be that person we need and take the 'Streaks to the promise land.

His 6'4" addition will definitely help the Streaks...Don't forget, the Streaks will have Brush (6'7), Z. Farmer (6'5), j. Braniff (6'4)...don't forget, Robbie Evans (6'3",muscle) will be back after being injured last season; he's a great rebounder with high motor;played very well this summer.

This is a VERY LONG group of players...great wingspands!

Should be fun!

hbk...if i recall, the last time you told me I was dipping into the pharmaceuticals, I told you we were good enough to make it to the Columbus, and you doubted me then, right? lol.....who was right? ;)

Eagles...Just going on what I saw this summer....if you want to believe the height listed by the other programs, I am going on their measurements and tape measure :) Seriously, though, our guys have grown over the summer. I'm 6'3, myself, and Farmer, Brush, and Braniff are all equal or taller than me. But their reaches are very long.

Piketon should be in for another good season. Based on what I saw last season they should be long and athletic. Going to be very tough for alot of teams around here to compete with them. I look forward to catching a couple of their games this season.

The Chef has to say that the new floor looks like glass and newly tuned sound system is 1st class. The Oven can be a special place when the Rockin Redstreak band fires up. Its not unusal for fans to come to the concession stand looking to buy earplugs. When they play Onward Piketon as the cheerleaders lead the boys onto the floor in front of the raucous and rowdy Redstreak Nation on any given Friday or Saturday night, buyer beware. At a near or full house The Oven can be as loud as any place in high school basketball. Of course and as expected The Chef is a little biased. Plus an occasional reported Ankle Breaker sighting can add to the excitement.
Word has it that he's been calling Bingo near Beril's on weekends. The Chef looks for a reappearance of the legend in the Village as its been 7 years since he leftand if he's like the locusts its time for his return.

The student's name is Gabriel Renaldi he is a super kid and appears to be mixing in with everyone really well. I'm guessing 6'3 or 6'4 and around 200-215. Gabriel is very good around the basket, he is currently recovering from knee surgery, so not playing at 100% yet, but he shows a lot of potential.

The Montserrat National team will be visiting Ohio in October, they will tour our facilities and workout on October 21st. (open to the public), after that, they will play at OUC, Ohio Christian, Rio Grande, then finished the Ohio Tour at The Ohio State University. Prior to departure they will visit West Virginia University. This was set up by Dave Shoemaker. For more information log on to http://montserratbasketball.blogspot.com

All I'm gonna say about my 'Streaks is that everyone better start showing a little more effort and dedication if they wanna win. I know it's still early, and a lot of kids play football. But there are the ones that don't play. And seeing this first hand, they don't show hardly any effort but a select few. I love Piketon athletics, and will always be for them. But I know with this team, with have the athletes and the potential to make a deep tourny run. But it all starts in showing some kind of want and effort.
