pigskinguru,

The SEOAL has certainly been stronger at times in the past than it is this season. There's no doubt about that, so I'm in complete agreement with you there. I was just upset because fuzzhead referred to it as a "joke". When talking about SE Ohio football, the SEOAL is far from a joke, in my opinion.

I don't think you can take anything away from what Logan has done in recent years though. They have won a ton of games, won league titles, and they've had some playoff success too. Several times they have lost to teams who have advanced deep into the playoffs or even won D1 state titles. I don't think anyone from Logan claims that they're some sort of state powerhouse, but they are certainly one of the best programs in our area.

Ironman02,
Seoal definitely not a joke in my eyes. More of Jab at Logan and the scheduling crictics. Just think it is struggling right now...might even meet its demise soon. Wonder what proud programs like Jackson and Gallia Academy will do?

Unfortunately, the "gurus" around here missed on Locos point that I have mentioned repeatedly. And , for a number of years the SEOAL contained Itown , supposedly one of the league "powerhouses". The fact the kittens got their butts handed to them makes Logan an inferior program ? My, how the entire area wishes to dismiss the real reasons for the areas demise -- scheduling. Go to the remote RURAL Northwest Ohio and note the successful programs there in most smaller divisions and lo & behold, the schedules jump out at you because of their competitve nature. Thats missing in SEO and as long as it is, success will be fleeting. The shots continue to be taken at Logan but they do all that they can -- playing the biggest, best teams they can find for the non-league schedule and then deal with the league. No one in SEO plays a Logan schedule. Most attempt to duck competition by scheduling smaller or weaker teams and most do not get good doing that. Shame, but thats a fact. So long as the entire region ducks competition expect to see the area struggle in playoffs. One team can not change an entire area. The area must change.

The SEOAL remains the dominant league in the region. Those who ran from the league did so because they couldn't win. One game match-ups where someone wins once in 20 years is the proof. But most avoid the SEOAL. Thats the reality.
