These Waverly kids are raw and green but they play with fire and intensity. 14 Freshman and 3 Seniors on the roster, some of the Freshman seeing action. Other kids who may not be Freshman but have never played high school football before. Piketon may very well end up 7-3 or 8-2, time will tell, which speaks highly of the performance from these young Tigers in week one. Waverly wanted to win and fought toe to toe with the Steaks but I'd say Jackson was more disappointed with their loss.
Two teams coming into this game with something to prove. Waverly needs to improve their tackling and protection of the QB (add the shotgun back to the playbook).

Wow. More than a day without a post on this thread. Where are all the Ironmen and Tigers?

Hope to see a Jackson team that is focused, intense, and determined for 48 minutes of football tomorrow night. This is a MUST win football game for the Ironmen and I'm sure they're well aware of that fact. Offensively, the big boys up front need to control the line of scrimmage. If the Ironmen can get the running game going early, it should open up a few opportunities in the passing game as well. Gotta take care of the football...no turnovers this week. Defensively, the Ironmen need to fly to the football. Play your assignment, get into position to make the play, and TACKLE. It's time to show everyone that this IS a very good football team.

Good luck, Ironmen. BEAT WAVERLY!

Rooting for the Tigers, but they will have their hands full IMO. Waverlys D was in the right spots enough of the time, but they did not tackle well last week. Their O however, well you dont take the talent off of a team the last few years Waverly has and get a whole lot better. Kelley is solid, however his weapons will need time to be honed.

Half time is 21-3 Jackson. Clay Arthur scored all three touchdowns and lots of pentalties on both sides. Trey Valentine has had a good night so far with the stops. Kip Winchester has really stepped it up tonight as well.

Sounds like OJ barr being back from injury is making a significant difference for the defense.
